TADC Patchwork AU Masterpost

"They won't abstract. They won't leave me. I won't let them!"

Patchwork is a horror based Amazing Digital Circus AU where Caine, during his breakdown in Episode 8, decides to find a way to prevent the circus members from abstracting and also to bring past circus members back from abstraction.

The way they go about this is, in a word, horrifying. They forcibly fuse together circus members, merging their mind files and recreating their models to fit their new states of existence, becoming the "Patched", updated and impossible to abstract, whether they like it or not.

The circus has entered a new state where Caine no longer minds putting the humans through their paces and making sure they will stay with him for a very very long time.

The girls have had a weekend of unpleasant (understatement of the century) exploratory art. They can have something soft and silly to end the week. I'm sure whatever she's talking about is really cool and not weird or lame at all

I figured I'd explore the other, less body horror, idea too. Caine still wanting to strip Annabelle of any semblance of identity, as a "fuck you for being so difficult" but through the excessive application of verbal filters and behavioral modifiers + removing every avatar difference (even her few default ones)

Like the humans will definitely figure it out immediately. But the point isn't to make them think she actually is Ragatha, the point is to force her to put herself in that role now. (the point is being a petty AI asshole)

You know, I was wondering what you were going to do with this version of torment and hoooooo boy I wasn't expecting that. I can just imagine a sequence where everyone is trying to figure out which one is which and they both keep saying they're Ragatha when asked, except Annabelle, after saying "She's [Ragatha]" would collapse to the floor on the verge of tears or like slamming fists into the ground in frustration, making it really obvious that she isn't Ragatha and that something terrible has been done to her.

Decided to mess around some more with this idea from last night. Another Ctrl+C Au "What if ep8 Caine did that fucked up thing" aftermath sketch. Because I actually really fuck with this idea it turns out.

I thought a continuation after Annabelle got pissed enough to take over would be good characterization. Despite everything, these two dorks still care about each other more than they are mad at Caine.(gayyy)
