I grew up catholic and still ended up gay but one thing I’ll never forget is the aesthetics of catholic cathedrals. holy fuck dude the dark somber atmosphere the stained glass the statues the imagery.........
oh the aesthetics fucked so hard. seeing gorey life size statues of jesus as a kid really did something to me. what is did? I have no idea. but it certainly did scramble up something in my head
but anyways like, when I was in high school I went to a lutheran church a few times just to impress a boy and it was SO boring there. I'm like????? do non-catholics really live like this??????? where's the stained glass?? where's the stone work, pipe organs, and balconies??? where's mom (mary)???? where's my poor little meow meow bleeding out on the cross????????????? what's the point of even going to church if it's just gonna be a rec room. goodbye

i want tattoos but unfortunately i am a coward. i have this idea though, of the phrase “i am not afraid to keep on living;” (with the semicolon) around a butterfly, representing mcr and the semicolon and butterfly projects [tw for discussions of suicide and self-harm at those links]. it would be on my forearm/wrist area. maybe someday
