“Love That Pup” is more than just the name of his first cartoon, it describes the way that fans feel about this little guy. Happy Birthday Tyke! Tyke of “Spike and Tyke” fame made his debut on October 1st, 1949 in the Tom & Jerry short “Love That Pup,” directed by Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera.
