Medicine
Put a word in my askbox and I will give you a bad AND good memory from my muse's past that associates with said word. - Accepting "There was a time when my mother was very sick. I was very frightened at the time, because she was my only family, and I was very young. However, the doctor came, and gave me very strict instructions on how to give her the medicine, and that those instructions must be followed perfectly. I had not often been a rule follower even then, but fear is an amazing motivator. I do believe that was the first time that I found sometimes following rules are a good thing. That there is a time and place for all. Mother started getting better within a few days, and there was such a sense of accomplishment for being able to care for her in a way she'd only cared for me." "As for a bad memory..." He frowns and turns his face away, "They called my chemical compound that I developed working for the East India Company medicine. It was never meant to be such, it was supposed to be temporary. People would complain of their sickness, and they would give them medicine that made them not need to eat or sleep. I'd meant it for healthy patients.... not sick ones...." He heaves a great breath. "There is a difference between someone who is a doctor, and someone who studies the human body. Though it was something I once wanted to be.... I definitely am not one. I regret my hubris during those times..."
