Hi, everyone. My country, the Philippines, has gone through four (4) typhoons in the past few weeks. One of those, Typhoon Rolly (Goni), was recorded as the world’s strongest typhoon so far in 2020. In addition, only two days ago, Typhoon Ulysses (Vamco) ravaged and flooded towns and cities around Luzon. A lot of families have lost their homes, belongings, and businesses due to this disaster, on top of the ongoing pandemic.

HI GUYS! It’s Shin! My family and I decided to create this page to help our family and friends in Philippines. Idk if you guys know but a Super Typhoon recently hit my hometown - a small island east of the Philippines called Catanduanes. Typhoons always pass through our little island but this is the second one to hit in less than two weeks - residents were unable to recover from the first one then a super powerful one hit again. We are still unable to contact our family and friends until now which is scary :( No electricity, no drinking water and communication lines are down in the whole island as per the news. Former residents of the island have started organising donation drives to help the affected families and my family and I want to do the same! I live all the way in Europe now but I want to do all I can to help them too. I grew up in that island and it hurts to see it like this. My grandma lives on her own and we still don’t know how she’s doing :( Dios mabalos!

If any of you noticed, another huge typhoon has hit the Philippines. The typhoon Ulysses has brought so much hardships and pain to its victims in the Philippines. Homes were destroyed due to the flooding and the wind. People still stranded on their roofs waiting to be rescued. And what's worst, it came right after typhoon Rolly ravaged the people. They haven't even recovered from one disaster, and then another worse one comes crashing through. All while there's still a pandemic going on.
Our government is sh*t. They're hardly doing anything. Our president is a no-show once again. They aren't here when we need them. So we decided to take it into our own hands.

hi tumblr !! my immediate family in the philippines is in NEED of help resulting in the devastation of typhoon rolly. luckily everyone is alive, but they are very traumatized and in need of some shelter.
they survived this category 4 devastation and they need as much help as we can provide.
attached is a video of what my family just experienced. their roof has been detached as well as the doors and all the windows are broken. their house is so beaten up that the structure looks as if it’s about to give up altogether.
this part of my family specifically involves my cousin Rose who is 4 months pregnant. there are three other victims within the family as well.

What is happening in the Philippines
The largest island of the Philippines, Luzon, was struck by Typhoon Rolly (Goni) in November 1. It made landfall and affected many Filipinos residing in Bicol region (southern region).
In November 11, just after the devastating typhoon Rolly, Metro Manila and other nothern region of Luzon are currently affected by Typhoon Ulysses (Vamco) destroying houses, businesses, and agriculture.

Hello! If you've been following international news religiously, you likely know by now that the Philippines was devastated by tropical cyclone after cyclone. If I remember correctly we had 5 tropical cyclones in the span of three weeks, and 3 of those 5 were typhoons: one was typhoon Molave (Quinta) who went through southern Luzon and the Visayas islands, the second one was super typhoon Goni (Rolly) who brought 2013's Haiyan (Yolanda) level winds and rain in southern Luzon and much more severely impacted the islands still recovering from Quinta 2 days before, and the most recent one is typhoon Vamco (Ulysses) who brought intense rain and floods reaching two stories high within 6 hours today in central Luzon including the nation's capital and reminded people of 2009's typhoon Ketsana (Ondoy).
I'm not telling y'all to donate, but if you can and want to, please please please donate to NGOs or the partners of the office of the vice president instead of directly to the government. Even the most disaster-prepared local government unit is asking for help from the private sector instead of the national government. I'm not going to rant about the government here, but there are questions about transparency, the handling of funds (especially COVID-19 funds), and more.
