Super Typhoon Just Hit us HARD PLEASE HELP!!!

Hey everyone. So. This is your local friendly Filipina speaking and uh. My place just got hit hard by the Super Typhoon 🙃🙃🙃

This is it now. But we're still suffering from very VERY strong winds and nonstop heavy rain.

This is what it looked like just a bit before it made a landfall here yesterday. Literally can't see the entirety of the country anymore.

Here's what our street looked like yesterday night and that's not even counting the leaks in our house because uhhhhhh our roof??? I could hear it flapping yesterday just from the strength of the wind 💀💀💀

I really really hate to do this but my expenses have been very very tight so to speak. If you were here a while ago, I've had a lot of events happen this past months. Lost the job (got ghosted by them), lost my grandmother, my cat got very sick...

I really need some help. I'll have to get the roof fixed since I can't just leave the thing leaking since it'll be more expensive if the leak ate away at the foundation of the roof especially since it's forecasted that we're going to have very rainy months soon and there's still a few forecasted expected storms coming up next month.

PAGASA says Uwan/Fung Wong will reach super typhoon status well before the full force of it hits us in the next 24-36 hours or so, and fam, this storm is literally bigger than our entire island (Luzon). In fact, the weather service says it could cover all of the Philippines and then some.

Our place is in one of the most geographically secure and protected parts of Baguio, in a building that will probably outlast the sun, with eight or ten inch thick concrete walls, hefty reinforcing pillars, metal doors, and reinforced windows, surrounded by friends, and with some of the best drainage in the entire city, so our little family--including me, @thesurestthing , our daughter El, and @geniussheepworld and a couple of her sisters who are staying with us--should be fine; our biggest immediate worry is losing power and maybe data connectivity for a few days. But I worry for those less protected, and although it would be crowded, I wish Jhane's mom and the rest of her sisters would come wait this out with us.

Anyway, wish us luck! And I'll try to keep posting occasionally, but don't worry too much if all you see is my queue for the next few days.

Working on the April 13th disaster relief.

hate to say it hit those who deserve it more hardest but it kinda did.

hard to not compare it to some sort of judgement by god.

in a practical sense the rich and ignorant bought into poor setup.

the common man seems to have invested where it matters.

we were warning them long enough but they didn't listen.

see what happens when you ignore professionals for a quick buck.

there are places made of palm leaves looking untouched.

all the concrete stuff is jumbled about like a broke jigsaw.

still, i don't wish what happened on anyone.

just hard not to judge people who punch women and children just to get to the front of the line of the rescue effort.

so sure i kicked that sucker in the face.

they were gonna capsize us, so it's a reasonable response.

damn it felt good to do that though.

sucks that we left some kids behind because officials said we had to save the rich people first.

if those kids die, i'm going to go full vigilante and put the fear of god in the minds of my 'betters'.

at least that way i'd be satisfied, and the blame would all be on me, the guy they already don't like.

i'd get kicked out of the station too, so my colleagues wouldn't get the flack for it.

hypothermia is the biggest threat right now.

FEMA won't send us any more aid, said that the disaster relief is over, while the place is still full of water and there's no houses.

i don't care if i get a black mark on my record, i'm gonna keep going as long as i'm able.

what do you call the people who leave hundreds to die? apparently 'heroes' according to the media.

you know, when the heat comes in, this is gonna be a breeding ground for parasites.

2 days, that's all the US can afford.

what is that manpower doing right now? just sitting in a fancy warm apartment in a comfy bed?

they be goofin around during a typhoon

so this is an animation that was supposed to be uploaded a month ago but due to time, motivation and a few source spaghetti problems, it became unfinished in the end. so i thought, "eh screw it why not upload it" since its a animation that im sort of proud of and it would be a shame to just to leave it hidden for no-one to see.

there is a bit i would do to improve this, such as better wind and rain effects, water splashes, better sound effects etc. but i kept running into troubles with them where they wouldn't render properly and after some time i lost motivation to 100% finnish the whole thing... oh well
