These are some of my favourite works I've ever done! It was SO much fun researching for them and finding out more and more about the evolution of life on our planet! They're divided stratigraphically by geological periods!
On the first image the periods are from top to bottom: Paleogene, Cretaceous, Jurassic, and Triassic. The classic dinosaur eras and then the first post-dinosaur era to round it out!
On the second image the periods are from top to bottom: Permian, Carboniferous, Devonian, Silurian. This one really shows the transition from ocean life to land animals and the evolution of synapsids (us! And a whole bunch of other freaks) and diapsids (dinosaurs!) before the dinos took charge after the Permian-Triassic extinction event.
Anyway I could talk for hours about this, paleontology is endlessly fascinating and the earth has held so many absolutely wonderful freaks! Here you can see which critters I've illustrated exactly:
