Remember when Tyrus was a crack ship, like we’ve come so far
Tyrus is canon.
I’m so used to thinking I’m reading into something too much when it comes to not straight ships. Seeing closure to their relationship was something I questioned would actually happen even right before the finale aired; it hits hard every time I remember it actually happened.
Realistic Tyrus Ending
The Tyrus ending was the most realistic and best outcome. For anyone who is mad they didn’t kiss think back to your first experience acknowledging that you like someone of the same sex. As a gay guy, when I think back to my middle school days when I first had contact with another boy it definitely wasn’t a kiss. Then it wasn’t common to ask someone straight out if they liked you or if they were gay. It wasn’t the “norm” so we always expressed our interests in very subtle ways or had little moments without big gestures or deep conversations. It was little moments like the Tyrus handhold that let you know that they were interested. The “hand inching forward” move was a classic. Inching forward until you know it was reciprocated. Heart pounding, face flushed, struggling to breath, hand shaking, Palm sweaty, and waiting for a reaction of “it’s ok” or “they move their hand away”. Then when you actually touch and you realize it’s reciprocated that touch becomes electric. Other classic moves included “footsie” under the table, play wrestling, “playfully” putting your legs up on their lap. Remember this is the first “intimate contact” with each other and they’ve never had romantic contact like this with any other boy. It realistically wasn’t going to be a kiss and not to mention they’re in the middle of a party. The people that were out back also happened to move away from them and this contact happened away from the eyes of everyone else. The kiss probably would’ve happened that same week at another time etc. if we would’ve gotten a season 4 Where they were more comfortable I wouldve expected more. But This was better than a kiss because it really resonated with anyone who’s had this first experience as it was so real. My heart was pounding, my face was flushed, and I stopped breathing during this and it took me right back to my own experience. Josh and Luke did an amazing job portraying this scene and truly made history. This was more than enough and perfect. Thank You both!! @joshua-rush

This. This right here made history. Nothing will ever be able to top ever on Disney Channel’s radar. Never. This is just beautiful, there aren’t enough words in the English language that describe how beautiful this was. I’m just amazed.
