[writing post] listening to a beloved song for the first time in years

three years, six months, 4 days and 2 hours ago i was in a parking lot, broken speakers blaring this song, bruising the soles of my feet in breaking sneakers to the beat, heart bleeding love for life. and streetlights watch over me like saints. i’m not the person i was then but i dance the same. and i still know every word. today i’m in a different parking lot, in different clothes with different speakers and different sneakers. but the song stays the same. and so does the love.
