One of my coworkers inadvertently dropped music recommendations to me during the Conversations Hearts exchange consumption window.
The Midnight turned out to be much more synth-driven but I was very amused by the claim (and the color scheme similarity that I initially thought he was referencing). I did wind up bookmarking "Runaways" and "Sanctuary" from their most recent album "Syndicate".
He also recommended for me Tyson Motsenbocker's album "Modern Worries" based on the songwriter vibes of newer Vacation Manor stuff, and I would have clocked the music as a little more similar to Sufjan Stevens', but...
Then in the middle of the album, the tracks "Nathan 1" and "Nathan 2" were repeatedly whacking me over the head with symbolism as a spoken word/narrated fable-about-AI. and midway through "Nathan 2" I got tired of how bleak everything sounded and hit skip, which dropped me straight into the track "I Don't Wanna Be On The Internet Anymore" which was absolutely excellent, you all will enjoy immensely 10/10 no notes.
