Gotta be honest, I did feel his hair looks eerily like adult Izuku hair. I’ve been jokingly saying for a while what if Compress is actually Hisashi Midoriya and not AFO lmao. (Of course, given what Izuku’s dad’s quirk seems to be, AFO still makes much more sense. Sako being Hisashi is clearly more of a crackpot idea lmao)

Personally I’d find it both funny AF, given how popular the dad for one theory is, and also admittedly more interesting if it was Sako.

You see, for me going the Dad For One route in a story like this feels...too obvious? Bnha has been about subverting expectations to a degree, and for me the DFO theory seems like......IDK, kinda the most typical thing to expect. I think another reason why I find this less interesting of a plotpoint ultimately, is because unlike the whole Dabi is Touya thing, there has barely been any build up about the identity of Izuku’s dad as far as I can tell, so I’d honestly prefer being a little surprised by it in this case.

(Might also just be because of Hori being Star Wars fan and all, and the big thing in Star Wars was the whole Vader is Luke’s dad thing, so my brain just sort of automatically connects those things and finds it too predictable, IDK it’s all a personal preference thing in all honesty)

I’m not saying I’ll be upset if AFO is Izuku’s dad tho, don’t get me wrong; if it works with the narrative, I’m more than fine with. I take coherent, reasonable plot over surprise twists any day, even if I do predict what happens as a result. I will also not mind if it turns out to be our local magic dad or somebody else. We don’t really know jack shit in that department yet, anyway. Izuku’s dad and his identity is still a mystery pretty much.

Let’s just wait and see what the story reveals once it goes further ahead!

......I’m also honestly lowkey amused/spooked how similar Compress’ hair looks to how I drew my first DFO AU Hisashi’s hair. Another thing that’s kinda funny to me about this is all the old man jokes that has been made about Sako, then turns out he’s pretty handsome and not some old fart under that mask.

Sako had a good reason to hide his face he’s too pretty lmao
