I'm sure you're thinking "didn't he just die" and the answer was yes, but he got better
photos i took from umbrella academy that i think abt a lot...
“None of the kids want to be heroes, and none less than The Horror”
Out of a big number of things that bothered me about TUA as an adaptation, Ben’s statue being toned down was definetly one of them, so I tried to mix both versions! Also did an alive version, simply because I wanted to! For once, I think it looks nice
poor quality pics of gways concept art part 1!!! all of these are from the 2008 hardcover of apocalypse suite
What are your thoughts on the siblings' numbers? I like the "Least powerful to most powerful" one, but a lot of people think that it's about who came first
Sadly, both theories are false! It’s impossible they’re numbered in order of arrival because five and Luther are canonically twins, so they must have arrived at the same time. I highly doubt that it’s least powerful to most powerful because:
That means that Allison is the third least powerful of the siblings, which is complete bullshit. Her powers literally bend reality, and you’re trying to tell me that’s less powerful than Klaus, Five, or Ben’s powers??
Two. In the comics there’s no reason to believe that Regginald knew of Vanya’s powers, and I doubt he’d have let her be as rebellious as she is.
Three. Look I know half the fandom hates Luther but there’s no way that he’s less powerful than Comics!Diego, who’s powers is to hold his breath. Literally.
And finally! Regginald doesn’t know of his powers when they arrive? In the show they’re already numbered as babies, so it simply doesn’t make sense.
In my opinion, they’re random numbers that hold no meaning whatsoever. As everything Regginald does, he puts those numbers onto them without reason and real meaning, since they’re like that since they`re born. He sees them as lab rats that don’t deserve any more thought than necessary.
People: why the fuck do you use panels from the Umbrella Academy comics as reaction images and memes?
Me:
Thinking about You Look Like Death coming out and...
The fact that Klaus canonically got kicked out of the academy??? Honestly a game changer.
Idk about yall but i was always working under the assumption he was the first one who chose to leave. And Hargreeves cut him off because of it. But him getting kicked out and cut off at the same time? The gay teen trauma of it all? I MEAN! YALL......
Sooo much about him is gonna be revealed and our ability to flesh him out personality/internally like What was the final straw for Hargreeves? Is it his addiction bc he’s been an addict as early as 14 but he’s being kicked out at 18. Whats his reaction? Is this before or after Ben’s death? Does that even matter? How will his siblings react?
And its setting up series 4 for us in regards to Klaus bc from interviews G said hes gonna reflect more on his addiction.
Like what I think is INCREDIBLE and one of my favorite parts of being into Umbrella Academy is slowly learning more and more about these characters while never feeling like I dont Know them. They have always felt fully fleshed out from the begining, like they naturally have a history because we’re introduced to them in their 30s post-Heroing.
So we see them as adults living with their trauma, we see the results of their abuse and now we’re learning about those years and them in reverse.
And its not like this is a long standing hero series that can pull from years of characterization and history. We got 19 issues baby!!! For like 13 years we only had 12!!!! So every panel is a new perspective for these characters we love.
