Snufkin stared up at the other in total awe. Sure, he knew he had a dad but he hadn’t ever gotten to see him since he was very little at least. So, it was all very odd to the mumrik to say the very least. “ Oh-uh, hey? ” he choked out, his tone coming off a lot more questioning than he intended it to be, “ It’s good to see you..? It has really been a while, huh. ”

The muddler was a bit confused by the statement but was immensely flattered regardless. “ Oh Jox! ” he proclaimed, clapping his paws together with a wide grin, “ That’s so sweet of you to say! I’m not super sure what you mean by the lionheart bit though, if I’m honest. ” Muddler just continued to smile sweetly at the joxter before him, idly thumping his tail on the ground next to where he was sat.

You were supposed to curtsy when you met someone new. That was what Ninny’s aunt had taught her-- curtsy, head properly tilted down, delicate ankles crossed. But it wasn’t like Ninny’s head could be seen, tilted down or not, and her ankles often faded in and out of reality as her moods swung from anxious to... well, slightly less anxious.
Plus, this man looked familiar in a way she could not place; was he related to someone else in the valley? Ninny never made eye contact with anyone, and thus didn’t know who it was he looked so much like. So was she supposed to curtsy or not? What kind of manners--
“Are you looking for Moominmama?” The invisible child whispered, her voice no louder than the gentlest rustle of leaves. “Or, um... Moominpapa?”

The Muddler jumped to his feet when he saw those familiar icy eyes. It felt like (and it honestly wasn’t inappropriate to say that it has been) ages since he last saw his dear friend and he was absolutely ecstatic to see him again. “ Joxter! ” he exclaimed, beaming at him, “ It’s so great to see you! How have you been? Well, I assume! ”
