i'm imagining "elaborate shrugging" to include some sort of choreography, possibly to the tune of the 1812 overture, at the height of which your shoulders are surrounded by shoujo sparkles

it is a gesture that begins life as an ordinary shrug but eventually blossoms into a majestic butterfly/shrug/butterfly-shrug thing (shruggerfly??? ok) that involves shaking hands in the air like one just does not care. the musical accompaniment is a 'meh' crescendo.
