Assassin's Creed 3 just casually having the funniest opening assassination in the series will never not bring me great joy.
Assassin's Creed Scarlet
According to the reporter Stephen Tolto, an insider revealed that Ubisoft Québec was going to release a new AC game (after Shadows) which was supposed to occur after the end of the American Civil War during the period of Reconstruction, experienced by the nation between 1865 and 1877.
The protagonist was a former black slave (slavery has been abolished after the victory of the Federal) in the South of the country who, once he had devoted himself to the cause of the Assassins, decided to return to those places to take part in a conflict that would see him oppose the nascent Ku Klux Klan.
The narrative premises were certainly interesting, and their veracity was confirmed by the words of five current and former Ubisoft employees.
According to three of the insiders, there are two main reasons behind the cancellation of this Assassin's Creed game:
The first is linked to the many negative reactions generated by the revelation of one of the two protagonists of Assassin's Creed Shadows: Yasuke the Samurai;
The second is linked to the increasingly tense political climate in the United States of America.
The supposed name of this game should have been "Assassin's Creed Scarlet".
In my humble opinion, this game had a lot of potential.
Since the game is setted after the Civil War, we might have met several characters that we already know like Cudgel Cormac, Shay Cormac's grandson, and Aveline's grandson (that is mentioned as the mentor of the American Brotherhood in 1863).
A side mission could have been a mission in which the protagonist visited Ratonhnhaké:ton's grave or met one of his grandchildren.
The protagonist could also have visited the graves of Aveline and Shay.
There could have been a connection with the French or English brotherhood. The Frye twins were 18 in 1865.
What a wasted opportunity !!!
What do you think ?
