Who knew the Rani went to Vonderland Boarding School?
I did it ^-^
He's half elf, witch is fascinating because the elves we see at the beginning of the series they he compares himself to is roughly 7in tall, green skinned, and winged. He had none of these traits. The only elvish trait he has is his ears and they are only vaguely like the other elf ears (his are thicker, rounder, and very moble. The other elves while their ears are mobile they don't seem as mobile as his and this remain constant for as far as I remember in the show, I'm still re-watching ^-^ might be disproved later).
I gave it a lense flair look but lowered the opacity to help make it still definable-ish lol and I gave him dimples because I could 😌
I present to you: the owl house but old and straight.

Please tell me I’m not the only one who remembers this show !
When you rediscover your love for an older special interest but can't find ANY content for it because it was infact genuinely poor quality ;^;
Speed paint for the drawing I did yesterday ^-^
The owl house really reminds me of UBOS and I don’t think anyone has seen it because it was one of the older cartoons I watched when I was younger.
Hi hello no I don't post no I'm not about to start posting regularly. Anyway I'm turning to Tumblr out of desperation.
There's this fun little show. This. This cancelled cartoon from the very early 2000s. I think it deserves a fandom. Just a little one, like as a treat. It's called Ultimate Book of Spells, or U.B.O.S.
I watched it recently and... it's a lot of fun. I'm not about to say it's the most perfect show around or anything, but it's definitely charming and I need like... two or perhaps three people to yap with.
It was definitely inspired by Harry Potter, but as an avid Harry Potter despiser I can tell you that it has elements that help it stand on its own as well if you can look past the really, really blatant inspiration. The characters are charming, the plot is fun (as it centers around the same basic idea of three kids going against a supremely powerful evil wizard, but the adventures are what make it), the voice acting is good. It's visually not particularly special but it does get points for delightful character design. Some students wear modern clothing, some wear clothing inspired by various cultures, some have wild wizard outfits.
It also doesn't have the same downsides as Harry Potter from a moral standpoint. Being as small and obscure as it is, and being a cartoon made by a studio, no one is in the spotlight to spout, like... hatred? And you can watch all of it for free (youtube, Tubi). Some of the backgrounders are obviously of different races and cultures, fantasy species included (so the school is not human witch/wizard exclusive). It's not perfect (2001), but it's also not actively hateful which is nice.
