Had a great time today with Shelby  at Decision Days talking to some prospective students and handing out pins and papers with our URL on them!

We all do this just to do it, all volunteer, so we're more than happy to answer your questions honestly and we love to talk about UD. I'm going to be majoring in Geoscience and possibly a minor in Coastal and Marine Geoscience. I was wondering have you done any internships or summer or winter programs dealing with marine science yet? Also, how hard is your major(is it manageable)? Thank You for the help:)

Hi! I had a very rewarding summer experience as a counselor for TIDE camp, Taking Interest in Delaware’s Estuaries. We went on marsh walks, built ROVs (remote operated vehicles) and even tested them in the UD pool. There are loads of ways to get involved with marine science, including study abroad like you mentioned. I went to Ecuador and the Galapagos, and New Zealand, on two separate January-term trips. They were incredible. I wrote about them earlier this week so if you scroll a little bit further down my page, you will see the answers to that question! As for the major, Geoscience is certainly a little different than my Environmental/Marine major but it is definitely manageable. I am still involved in numerous other activities on and off campus, and even find time to do some fun things. It is a lot of work but it’s all worth it to study what you really want to study!

It's been a while

I know it's been a while since I've written about college life... where did the time go?! Second semester senior year is flying by and I'm wondering when that happened. I seriously feel like I'm stuck in sophomore year... but I'm about to graduate in a few weeks.

How is everyone else feeling about Spring and school... is it busy? Exciting? Has everyone made their college decisions... UD anyone?! :) 

Decision Days are coming up... perfect days to help you... decide! April 12 and 19- I'll be there!

Last night was HTAC semi-formal! These lovely people right here were the awesome stage crew for Into the Woods.

Since it was my first time in HTAC, this is obviously my first HTAC formal, and it was a toonnn of fun! Such a good way to have some fun between the end of classes and finals!

And speaking of finals, my first one is at 10:30 AM. 

Guess I should start studying, hm?

Woods Weekend #2, Last Full Week, Thanksgiving Approaching

Well, I've been neglecting this blog in the past two weeks - admittedly it's been crazy. We're now in the second week of performances for Into the Woods (we have two more left! Tomorrow and Saturday night!). I've also been frantically trying to catch up on my schoolwork that I was putting aside during tech week (yaaay approaching Chinese final). And preparing for my family to come up here for Thanksgiving!

We're celebrating the turkey holiday up here this year, in Phily with some other family. I'm glad to have been able to give my family a reason to come up to this part of the country semi-regularly, and even more glad that they can make it work to come.

So, a lot has been happening. And somehow, my final fall semester is coming to a close.

Hey, everyone, my advice: GET INVOLVED!

People always jam that down your throat. Get involved, do things. And sometimes you feel forced. BUt, trust me, whenever someone says to get involved, they're telling you for your own good.

I hadn't been super involved in anything until this semester.

And now I have things.

And it's WONDERFUL.

Being busy is more stressful but it forces time management, and you meet so many people.

Besides being a blogger, I've been frquenting a lot more clubs lately. Like students for the environment, Environmental Engineering Student Association...I also am planning on going to SWE (society of women engineers) but I haven't been able to make it a meeting yet.

But, more excitingly, first of all, there's UDaB. I'm SO excited to go to New Orleans in the spring, and I'm really psyched to get to know the people.

And, I still have my final interview for Orientation Leader. If I got that, wow, I might be the happiest person on earth.

But, more importantly at the moment, HTAC! I've only technically been involved for a week, since I joined stage crew on Saturday for tech week, but wow, it's been so much fun. I've already met a TON of awesome people and I'm having a great time. Stage left crew is where it's at!

But actually, if you want to come see me move a stump and turn a tower and be birds, come to opening night tonight in Pearson at 8! The actors are so incredibly talented and it's an amazing show. Plus, the songs are catchy. I've been singing them all week.

This campus is absolutely gorgeous, especially in the fall. Wow.

My friend and I being typical environmental engineers. Reusable green mugs? Uh, yeah!

But,actually, we went to a student stand up comedy show to support our friend and it was awesome. SCPAB brings in comedy acts to Perkins every Tuesday, and this week, all students performed, including the two improv comedy groups on campus - Rubber Chickens and Riot Act - who never fail to provide a good laugh. 

Plus, they gave out these free awesome mugs. Win/win.
