ELDEST DAUGHTER SYNDROME THE CAT 🔥🔥🔥🔥

i dont have much art of her to share since i dont want to post anything from the comic itself but she's the character that the story starts out with!! she's a medic (shortening medcats to just medics because of the kinda. racist undertones to the name). also she has a cute nickname, i call her ardin! i mean. characters do in universe as well, the kitties have nicknames here :> makes it more authentic

anyways yeah i joked about the age order they abide by being ambiguous but i WILL say she has so much older sister energy that you can say for sure that she's at least the oldest of the girls. there's no way to really deny that tbh. and it does define her pretty heavily. she's the kind of sister that walked them to school, who their mom told to pour the cups of soda evenly because she actually trusted her to be fair about it. she's very strait-laced and even-tempered, but post-split she did accrue quite a but of ... bitterness, especially towards her mentor, coworker, and psuedo-father (he was lilysight's qpp, not a sire, who helped raise them), crescentfall. she's been giving him the silent treatment ever since she got her full name for a reason, because he's the one who caused the split in the first place. (he suggested it, saying it was a sign from starclan.)

she's a very polite person who's a little too overly-professional at times. she's a master at small talk and making it seem like she has everything together, even when she's SERIOUSLY freaking out-- it's a nice balance with her sister snowflower who is, to put it plainly, a disorganized chaotic mess who seems to fall in love with everyone she talks to. ardin bites down a lot of the nastier things she thinks and mostly keeps her judgement to herself, so it mostly manifests in her avoiding her issues, avoiding the conversations she needs to have, avoiding the siblings she misses taking care of more than anything. when she was little it felt like her purpose, and it's why she became a medic in the first place. now they're all unrecognizable and they've gone off to somewhere she cant follow. it's a struggle for her to come to terms with it.

she does have quite the sense of humor though! its just hard to get out of her. most of her smiles arent genuine these days. its funny her and ray have so much in common, but she really does not like him lmao.

anyways you may have noticed i called him sensitive and people-pleasing in my original post. that was referring to how he was when he was first split from his siblings-- lmao he is not that way anymore, not openly anyway. he never shuts up and he never seems to take anything seriously, and because of that he's earned a really unfortunate role as the black sheep of the family, as well as. well. the failure. he's so clumsy he cant even hunt, and god forbid he has to FIGHT. they roll their eyes at everything he does and he just smiles and laughs through the lump in his throat.

the way he's seen by everyone in his life just contrasts badly with the fact that his feelings are still incredibly fragile, but he's quick to laugh around it and pretend he's not hurt, even if he'll fall back on avoidant behavior to compensate (mostly self-isolation. depression cat!). he's incredibly lonely, with only stormcall as company these days. he doesn't even sleep in camp anymore. although im not going to gas him up as this tortured soul with no flaws, USUALLY his response to being told to shut the fuck up is to get more annoying. its just that when it comes down to it, he's a little too forgiving. he makes a lot of bad decisions because of it-- you'll never see an angry ray. annoyed, upset, defensive, but not angry. not ever. he's kind of constitutionally incapable of it, even if he can be rude.

otherwise he's only close to wolfmoon, who he loves to bother like an annoying little brother. wolf clings to the same belief that his other siblings (sans stormcall) do, but he's a lot more tolerant of it-- he sees ray as someone who needs his protection and guidance, even if he can be hurtful and callous towards his issues, ultimately. they're not the best at communicating, but they'd do anything for each other. ray loves to sneak over the border and bother him. wolfmoon would kill for him, but only if he doesn't kill him first LMAO

and as for the others. 😬 all he did was have joy and whimsy and be really really gay and they hate him for no reason!!!!!!!
