Alex Pereira stops Jiri Prochazka in the 2nd round! He is the new UFC LHW champion!

Prochazka tried to close range with a big right hand along the fence. Ended up squaring up to Pereira who managed to keep his stance and using a swiping right hook of his own to get Jiri's head into position for the left hook. Jiri goes down and Pereira lays it on til Jiri goes down. Ref stops the fight. Argue early stoppage if you want.

Leg kicks. The bladed stance of Jiri allowed for Pereira to continually kick at it. Jiri had success with pressuring Pereira backwards and even got some offense along the cage but Pereira did a good job of minimizing damage in those situations. There's a whole bunch more but I'm tired and going to bed.

Tom Aspinall stops Sergey Pavlovich in the 1st round!

Aspinall connects with the side of Pavlovich's head off a jab to the chest right hand upstairs. Instantly recognizes Pavlovich is hurt and just pours it on with another two punches and Pav goes down. Fight is over and Aspinall is the interim champ.

Jessica Andrade stops Mackenzie Dern in the 2nd round!

Dern is tough and hits hard and that's really it. Kept charging forward and just kept getting clobbered by Andrade in the pocket. The game is just not connecting.

Benoit Saint-Denis KOs Matt Frevola via head kick in the 1st round!

A chaotic first round between two of 155s biggest action fighters results in a head kick KO win for the Frenchman. Frevola trying to escape along the fence, turns his back and gets caught with a vicious head kick. Beautiful stuff. Finally making people pay for turning away.

Diego Lopes stops Pat Sabatini in the 1st round!

Emo Do Bronx goes out there and stormed Sabatini.

Steve Erceg survives scare, takes UD over Alessandro Costa

What started off as a great fight fell off in the third but was a much needed re-evaluation of Erceg as a prospect.

We saw a lot of the version of Erceg we was in his debut against Dvořák. He was slick. He was picking his shots well. And he was looking for the holes in Costa's attacks. And holes there were as the Brazilian struggled to find his range on the lankier opponent. He eventually does and manages to tag Erceg a couple times before Erceg finally tags him hard and ends up on top as Costa shoots the desperation TD. Doesn't get the finish and Costa gets to round two. It's at this point that Erceg's tall man, I'm leaning out of the way of punches defense hurts him. Costa starts flurrying forward behind 2-3 punch combos and starts connecting as Erceg is much less mobile and is getting caught leaning out the way. Costa drops Erceg in the 2nd and roughs him up on the feet. Erceg is forced to tie up to survive. Erceg then spends the entire 3rd round wrestling Costa for the single leg on the cage. Lands some nice elbows and knees as Costa tries to create space but otherwise uneventful.

Seems like that Dvorak fight really had more to due with a style match up than Erceg being a day one contender but this was a win you need to get as a prospect. getting one anyway you can after you've been hurt.

Nazim Sadykhov and Viacheslav Borshchev fight to a majority draw.

A 2nd draw in 2 weeks. Similar circumstance too. 2 definitive rounds to one fighter and an absolute massacre of a round to the other.

Everything that wasn't the last 3.5 minutes of round 2 for Borshchev was solid work. Was soundly out kickboxing Sadykhov, who seemed hell bent on loading up on big power shots. In the 2nd, Borshchev steps into a knee that Sadykhov counters with a left hand (I think) that rocks him. From there, Sadykhov unloaded and spent the rest of the round either battering Borshchev or controlling him from the top. Enough for a 10-8 round. Fun fight.
