“As times have been difficult as of late, the Minister for Magic has decided to spread holiday cheer. Typically, the Ministry of Magic has a gift swap inside of itself. Now,we are extending that outward. Should you so choose, your name will be put into a list and you will be sent someone to get a gift for and they will send something to you. This will speak for unity and the spirit of Christmas. The Minister for Magic sends his best wishes and hopes that all of you will enjoy.” - A Ministry official

The OOC info:

It is basically as it says! Like this post (or send an ask for your sideblogs) to enter your character. You have until 11:59pm CST on Friday, August 7th. Matches will be posted on August 8th just as soon as the randoizer is up and running. (Apologizs. Admin Amanda will be out of town and Admin Mel will be taking a basic skills test, but it will be posted by the end of Saturday!) Then, characters will have until the 10th, Monday, at 11:59pm CST to send gifts to the other character they were paired with! Use the submit box please! Send pictures, send a note, etc! But make sure your submit box is open or you won’t get a gift! (Or five, depending on how much your partner can spend!)

You might be wondering why I’m attempting to owl you a bludger, but I had this one specially made — more for my safety, than anything.

Rather than iron, this is made of rubber, so it should bounce right off of whatever you choose to throw it at, no damage done. 

I thought it might be cheaper than anger management classes.

The last thing Bellatrix expected was to see one of the school owls rapping at her window, parcel attached to its leg. Holding up her gown for the ball with one hand, she used the other to open the glass and remove the owl of its burden. She tossed it on her bed, curious to see who it was fun when her mother's voice echoed up the stairs.

It sat there forgotten for several hours until she returned to her room and collapsed on her bed, exhausted and with more than a little alcohol in her system. She landed on something lumpy and reached for it, tearing off the paper to reveal a first aid kit. A note fluttered out and as she read it, she smiled for an instant before remembering. It was times like these, where everything seemed so normal, that were the worst. She fell asleep, her thoughts spiraling downward.

In the early hours of the morning, she woke with her dress wrinkled and the note clutched in her hand. Resolve and revenge immediately rolled through her. She had a few hours before her family began their festivities, and it had to be used efficiently if she were to pull it off.

Finding out that her that the person she had to send a Secret Santa to was Lily Evans had Lucinda wanting to peel her own skin off at the thought. But in amongst her disgust, she had managed to pick something out. Though the present had previously been one Lucinda had received from her grandmother this year for her birthday and what with the amount of jewellery she did have, nobody would notice the missing scarlet oval cluster earrings Lucinda had hated.

Dear Lily, may you find all your fantasy’s come true this festive holiday. Merry Christmas, your Secret Santa. 

Along with her earrings, Lucinda couldn’t resist adding in some potions from Madam Primpernelle’s Beautifying Potions she had picked up on her recent trip to Diagon Alley. Though if truth be told, Lucinda had originally planned to only give Lily potions to help her improve her face. But what with it being a festive holiday and Christmas, Lucinda couldn’t help but provide the girl with a nicer present, to equal out her nasty one. 

Lily came back to her room to find a present sitting neatly in the center of her bed.  After reading the note, she carefully unwrapped it.  Inside was a pair of earrings that she was sure someone else would find gorgeous, though she would most likely never wear them.  Accompanying the jewelry were a few potions from Madam Primpernelle.  She’d used some of the witch’s products before, but never excessively.  All in all, Lily thought that the gift was nice and thoughtful, and just as carefully as she opened it, she wrapped it back up and stuck it in her trunk.
