For more than 30 years, Benson’s Hide-a-Way on the shore of Long Lake was the number one destination for UFO sightings in Wisconsin’s mysterious Kettle Moraine.
Sadly, proprietor Bill Benson passed away in 2021, bringing an end to the annual UFO Daze celebration that brought flying saucer enthusiasts, contactees, abductees, and even extraterrestrials themselves from around the country...and the cosmos.
Bill Benson, founder of the legendary UFO Daze, has passed away.
The legendary Bill Benson, who started UFO Daze in 1989 at his UFO bar in the heart of Wisconsin’s Kettle Moraine State Forest. There had been so much strange activity in the Dundee area - crop circles, lights in the sky, things moving in and out of Long Lake, things landing in pastures and scaring the cows - that he and others thought the community needed a safe place to share their personal experiences.
