Any rules/expectations??
oh jeez, now I gotta rant. Be prepared, guys-
RULES!! :D to keep it smooth and fun - that's what this au is for anyway; fun... and escaping life's problems. >u<
1. The "Louie-Logic" Anchor
Keep his motivation grounded. Even an "evil" Louie shouldn't just be chaotic for no reason. Base his villainy on his canon traits: greed, laziness, or a desire for security.
The "Sharpness" Rule: Louie is observant. His "evil" moves should come from knowing exactly how to manipulate the people around him because he’s spent years watching them.
2. Narrative Collaboration Rules
The "Yes, And..." Principle: In collaborative storytelling, don't shut down another writer's idea. Instead, accept it and add a new complication.
No "God-Moding": No single character (even Evil Louie) should be so overpowered that they "steal" the story or leave no room for others to react.
Establish a "Session Zero": Before starting, agree on the tone (is this a dark tragedy or a snarky villain comedy?) and the ending so everyone is moving toward the same goal.
3. Character Preservation (Even in AU)
Respect Character Voices: Even if Louie is evil, he should still sound like Louie—snarky, tactical, and perhaps a bit tired.
The "Family Bond" Tension: Decide early on if Louie still cares about his family deep down. A villain who hurts those he loves is often more compelling than one who just stops caring entirely.
4. Logistics & Communication
Delineate Roles: If you're co-writing a longfic, decide who handles which "chapters" or which characters.
Shared "Bible" or Doc: Keep a Google Doc with character sheets, plot milestones, and "lore" specific to your AU so no one forgets a detail.
Set Boundaries: Establish a list of "No-Go" topics (triggers or tropes) that no one is allowed to write into the story.
5. Stakes and Consequences
The "Timephoon" Rule: In canon, Louie’s biggest mistakes had massive consequences. In this AU, ensure his "evil" actions have real weight—if he betrays Scrooge, the fallout should be permanent to the story's timeline.
_
EXPECTATIONS!! :D because... what rp is complete without expectations. :) idk-
_
1. Creative Synergy & Conflict
Expect Creative Differences: No two people see "Evil Louie" exactly the same way. One person might want a tragic villain, while another wants a snarky mastermind. Prepare to compromise to keep the story cohesive.
The "Squishy" Narrative: In large collaborations, the story often becomes "squishy"—meaning some details might be interpreted differently by different writers. It's often better to let these small inconsistencies slide rather than debating every tiny detail. ...i read about this one-
2. Time and Momentum
The "Honeymoon" Phase: Expect a huge surge of energy at the start, followed by a natural dip as the "real work" begins.
Delays are Inevitable: Collaborative projects almost always take longer than individual ones. Life happens—illness, school, or work will likely cause someone to miss a deadline at some point.
3. Participation & Ownership
Inequitable Workloads: Sometimes one person ends up doing more of the "heavy lifting" (writing, editing, or organizing). It’s important to define roles early so everyone feels they have a fair stake in the project.
The "Poaching" Effect: Fans naturally "borrow" and build on each other's ideas. Expect your original ideas to evolve as others add their own "fingerprints" to the AU.
4. Communication Standards
Constructive Feedback: Not everyone knows how to give good notes. You should expect (and encourage) feedback that focuses on the work rather than the writer.
Proactive Updates: A good collaborator doesn't just go silent. Expect (and provide) regular check-ins to ensure everyone is still aligned on the "why" of the story.
5. Emotional Investment
Protect Your Passion: Writing an AU is an emotional journey. Expect that some people might be more sensitive to critiques of their favorite characters or plot points than others.
_
A few last details!! :D just some things to keep in mind.
_
1. The "Lore Bible" is Your Best Friend
Character Sheets: Create a simplified "Evil Louie" sheet. Focus on his new motivations and how they differ from canon.
The "No-Go" List: Clearly list any topics that are off-limits for the group to ensure everyone stays comfortable.
Timeline Tracking: Keep a bulleted list of major events so no one accidentally "undoes" a big plot point in their next turn.
2. Manage the "Soggy Middle"
Set Soft Deadlines: Instead of "whenever," try "aim for a response every two weeks." This keeps the momentum without making it feel like a job.
Embrace Character Failure: He can sometimes, but don't let Evil Louie win every single time. Giving him setbacks actually makes the story more interesting and gives other writers a chance to shine.
3. Collaboration Etiquette
The 10-Minute Rule: If you're writing in real-time (like on a shared doc), try giving one person 10 minutes to write and the other 5 minutes to edit/comment.
Ask Before You "Poach": If a partner comes up with a brilliant new "evil gadget" for Louie, ask before you make it a major part of your own scene.
Diplomatic Critiques: When giving feedback, focus on the story's needs rather than personal writing styles to avoid conflict.
4. Keep it Legal and Safe
Non-Commercial Only: To stay safe under Fair Use, ensure your AU remains a non-profit fan project. Do not try to sell or monetize the work.
Respect the Source: While it's an AU, keeping a "tether" to the original DuckTales vibe makes it more recognizable and satisfying for readers.
5. The big one - BE CREATIVE!!
Have fun: Just because this is a big au doesn't mean you can't have fun. You have an idea? Go for it. :3

Overall, I'm looking for like... GOOD movie things. Juicy movie things!! :3
