tom is a 23-year-old bounty hunter and citizen of the new california republic. he was born in angel’s boneyard, but with his hot-blooded family unable to make a living through wage labour and bureaucracy, soon migrated east with them along the NCR’s frontiers. they eventually settled into their own farm and tom was raised hunting animals and defending his home. at the age of 18, he left his family to set out further east in search of fortune in the soon-to-be-annexed mojave.

what he found instead was grueling conflict, but there was good money to be made by putting himself in the thick of it. although not officially a soldier, tom mostly targets enemies of the republic and brings their heads back to camp mccarran. he encounters boone by chance, and after discovering and killing the woman who sold his wife off to the legion, they become fast friends. boone takes on a mentoring role and works to spare tom from the horrors of killing for the ncr. together, they travel across the mojave assassinating legionnaires and tracking down terrorists, with tom gaining attention for his steady shot and curiously black eyes.

in 2281, boone opens up about the dark side of NCR expansionism. with this knowledge under his belt, tom begins splitting his time between bounty hunting and forming relations with local tribes, refusing to stand idly by as his country expands at the cost of innocent life.

The phrasing of this is throwing me off hgsdjg BUT I'm assuming it just means like a trait or quirk, and I'd say a neat one about me is how Aggressively I compartmentalize! My friends have told me when I shift into "Helper Mode" it's an almost instant switch to my customer service voice and I immediately start problem solving. They know I'm in Helper Mode because I tend to repeat phrases like "Gotcha, gotcha!" or "On it, on it!" because at my old food service job, repeating yourself over loud machines like blenders was important to.
