𝐀 𝐃𝐄𝐍 𝐎𝐅 𝐇𝐎𝐑𝐑𝐎𝐑𝐒, this new home of hers, yet the lab had become her greatest reprieve. Grotesque, the little bits of flesh and bone, floating merrily in their tubes, but compared to sitting in the Nest, staring blankly at a rock wall, she might have been watching over a field of daisies. Giselle studied each beaker in turn, delighting in the way Akon's figure stretched and pinched on the other side, knowing full well her own features would do the same. It was the little things. And when his full attention turned to her at last, she abandoned the charade with a smile.
"I am! Thanks for asking~" She took her time joining him at his desk, a spring in her step. What did she want? Oh, not much. She wanted to be out of this lab. She wanted to see him choke on his own blood. She wanted to watch him and every other person here beg for their lives, as if they meant anything. But they could start small. With a tiny hop, she found a seat on the desk besides the unfinished paperwork. There she laid her hand, fingers bent and ready to crinkle hours of his work in a heartbeat.
"I want to do something." Giselle swung her legs back and forth, the picture of innocence, despite the undeniable threat of her words. "I'm. Bored."
"Say, why don't you let me cut someone up for a change~?"
HAPPY BIRTHDAY REMI! / @ujinoko !!
--- REMIIIII !! Happy birthday !! I rushed to doodle you something because I didn’t know :’ ) BUT, I saw your newest body-mod idea for Akon and I LOVE it. We’ve only just started interacting/talking, but it is so much fun and I hope you’re around for a long time! Have a great bday !! <3 || @ujinoko
/sends her giri-choco to the world of the living.
“At least that kid knows who his real superiors are. Tch...”
Okay, she’s touched. As in... really touched. Despite Hiyori’s best efforts to separate herself from Soul Society, there were people out there (a veeeerrry tiny handful) who still recognised the small, fiery lieutenant of yesteryear.
Had Aizen been wrong then? Had she really not died that night?
Her heart was warmed just slightly by the thought of a moody Akon fretting about sending her a returning gift. And he had given her one of exactly equal value as she had given him. Chocolate for chocolate. Ever the scientist, he had calculated the most appropriate gift to offer.
But his calculations had missed one thing entirely. The fact that he had even thought of her, meant far beyond the chocolate.
“That bleedin’ heart.”

The wound was deep, severed into the top of her right shoulder -- her left hand and forearm having to carry the weight of her now useless appendage. Her base knowledge of anything medical told her that her tendons were long gone and torn now, the pain had her on the verge of blacking in and out.
By far her worst sustained wound within the Seireitei, the one with the most potential damage, and she agreed whole-heartedly that it needed to be looked at.
She didn’t even bother to respond with any snark, just looked up at him with desperate eyes.
❝Are you offering?❞
"Captain... would you like assistance?" Akon ventures to ask his superior. He might not have known what to get him for his birthday and if he was honest with himself, he'd certainly forgotten it in the past as easily as he forgot his own so... Well what else could he offer the man besides a helping hand that would prove worthy of him? Akon didn't know but at least this was something.
Mayuri’s hands were occupied, but for once he was not working on anything organic. He was rebuilding ( and improving ) his Hirenkyaku Shoes. He had his face very close to the heel of the shoe, inspecting it closely. He was not fond of objects that only had ONE purpose. Preferably, they should have multiple, to be deemed useful. He wished to add another ability to the Hirenkyaku Shoes, and he was currently trying to install a tiny devise in them that would help regulate the gathering of Reishi. Large, unstable quantities of Reishi would make any other abilities he wished to add unpredictable, and he couldn't have that! He was enjoying this work. Improving something he had designed himself, without meeting TOO big obstacles, while still finding it challenging enough... Yes, he was in a good mood, which was why he wasn’t annoyed at being interrupted.
He straightened himself up from his hunch over position, head turning towards his Fukutaichou. Akon asking him if he needed assistance with this? It had to mean the man had nothing BETTER to do. Perhaps he had just finished his own current project? Mayuri half wondered if he should take a break from his own work to check over whatever it was Akon had completed. It was a habit of his after all. Not because Akon did BAD work! Of course not! It was simply satisfying for him to see such craftsmanship as that which Akon always presented.
❝ Not with this, no. It hardly needs both our attention. ❞ Was his reply. Not dismissive. ❝ Have you finished your own project? If you have, I’ll take a look. ❞ The shoes could wait.
