Tbh I hope George is okay. I don't think anyone involved thought that people would get so invested into it. Like, yeah, 'twas a bit dumb to let the fire burn for so long, but, in the end, it was just a meet up between friends, and as he's a private person, I really believe that George just didn't think that people would care so much about it, so it'd make sense for him to get too stressed to reveal the truth after it becomes apparent he was wrong. I think this might also be an issue of fans feeling too entitled to cc's private matters, because, like, from an outside perspective, it's a completely harmless joke that people decided to just get rabid about. I'm not mad about it, and I don't think anyone else should be either. Or, at least, not to the point of taking it out on them.
