Suruga-cho, No. 8 in One Hundred Famous Views of Edo, by Utagawa Hiroshige, Japan, Edo Period, Ansei Era, 1856. Brooklyn Museum.
Chip Star (off-brand Pringles) in an unusual flavor 江戸前風しょうゆ, or Pre-Edo Soy Sauce! Now, the Edo period started in 1603 so this is not your image of soy sauce; it is, in fact, very fishy. Strong bonito flavor. Wouldn’t get it again, but I do enjoy the packaging design!

Yoshitoshi: Toki Daishiro Demon Wrestling
Gamo Ujisato, a samurai, was traveling through a village when a farmer told him stories of the ghosts and demons who came out every night and terrified the villagers. Toki Daishirô was a retainer of Gamô Ujisato, and he decided to spend the night in a haunted temple. The samurai said he would deliver the people of these negativities, and this he accomplished perfectly. Here we see the samurai wrestling with what looks like a guardian statue gone bad, with a Buddhist-looking deity looking on, who has also gone bad as he has some sort of demon-face on his stomach. Behind are skeletons egging on their compatriot.
