Ukrainians have been protesting on Maidan since November 2013.

In light of recent escalations, we have established the Ukraine Patch to translate and link important content from the Ukraine to the Western world.

Ukraine needs our help promoting developments and their efforts on social media. The goal is to get the West involved in helping the Ukraine establish a true democracy ASAP.

Ukrainians cannot do this for themselves for a few reasons - 

1. Their Government will block

2. Language Barrier.

There needs to be someone to translate and filter through content that is relevant and from a reliable source. http://v-n-zb.livejournal.com/6709060.html

3. Lack of Social Media knowledge.

Mainly, Ukrainian social media use is consistent with where Americans were 8-10 years ago. They are familiar with Facebook but do not understand how to optimize its use. The common Ukrainian is not social media modernized nor networking on Twitter.

4. They are busy fighting for their freedom.

Who is the Ukraine Patch?

We are a group of 4 people spread between the US and the Ukraine who, together, can overcome these obstacles of delivering content to the Western World. 

Comprised of 1 American, 1 American Ukrainian, and 2 Ukrainians. We are all friends.

The names of 3 of the people will remain anonymous for their protection.

  The reason why people want to remain anonymous is because anyone recognized as a part of this could get criminal charges of participating or engineering civil disorder which is 8-15 years of jail time.

I am the Ukrainian, the native of Kiev.

And now, I am on Maidan, on the central part of my city.  I want you to know why thousands of people all over my country, are on the streets. There is only one reason - We want to be free, from a dictatorship. We want to be free from the politicians who work, only for themselves. Who, are ready to shoot, to beat, to injure people just for saving their money, just for saving their houses, just for saving their power.  I want these people who are here, who have dignity, who are brave… I want them to live a normal life.  We are civilized people, but our government are barbarians.  That’s not a Soviet UNION.  We want our courts not to be corrupted.  WE WANT TO BE FREE. I know that maybe tomorrow, we’ll have no phone, no internet connection, and we will be alone here.  And maybe policemen will murder us, one, after another, when it will be dark, here.  That’s why, I ask you now, to help us.  We have this freedom inside our hearts. We have this freedom in our minds.  And now, I ask you, to build this freedom in our country.  You can help us, by only, telling this story to your friends, only by sharing this video.  Please, SHARE IT.   1) Їхній уряд може блокувати контент, або відслідковувати і депортувати, жорстоко поводитись, або навіть убивати тих, хто розказуватиме правдо про те, як насправді живеться під корумпованим урядом.

  3) Нехватка навиків праці з соціальними медіа. Використання соціальних медіа в Україні, в основному, таке, як у Сполучених Штатах було 8-10 років тому. Вони знайомі з фейсбуком, але не зовсім розуміють як оптимізувати його використання. Пересічний українець не зовсім модернізований у соціальних медіа і не займається будівництвом зв’язків у Твіттері.

  4) Вони зайняті боротьбою за свою свободу.

  Хто такі Ukraine Patch?

Ми група з 4х людей, які знаходяться у Сполучених Штатах і в Україні, і разом можуть подолати перепони при доставлені контенту до західного світу.

Наша група складається з 1 американки, 1 американської українки і 2 українців. Ми всі друзі. Імена трьох з них залишаться невідомими задля їхнього захисту. Причина,чому люди хочуть захистити свої особи анонімністю, полягає у тому, що будь-хто задіяний у цьому проекті може отримати звинувачення у причетності або підбурюванні до масових заворушень, що карається строком від 8 до 15 років.

Я українка, уродженка Києва. Зараз я на Майдані у центрі свого міста. Я хочу аби ви знали чому тисячі людей по всій мої країні вийшли на вулиці. Причина тільки одна – ми хочемо бути вільними від диктаторства. Ми хочемо бути вільними від політиків, які працюють тільки на себе, які готові стріляти, бити, калічити людей аби зберегти свої гроші, свої будинки, свою владу. Я хочу, аби ці люди, хто є зараз тут, які мають гідність, які є сміливими…Я хочу аби вони жили нормальним життям. Ми цивілізовані люди, але наша влада це варвари. Це не Радянський Союз. Ми хочемо, аби наші суди не були корумпованими. МИ ХОЧЕМО БУТИ ВІЛЬНИМИ. Я знаю, що можливо завтра не буде телефону, Інтернету, і ми всі тут залишимося наодинці.
