Locket’s hold more than Secrets
Inky tears streamed down her face, lips cracking as they broke into a shaky smile. Cool stone knuckles brushed her lips as she looked as her mother’s face for the first time in twenty years.
She seemed to be in telling a story, a good one if this picture was anything to go by. Her fingers traced the violet streaks streaking her otherwise auburn hair as it sloped gently against her right temple. You would think it would clash, but it somehow didn’t.
Something was tugging at the back of her mind as she held the locket close.
There was something familiar to her face, and not simply in the sense of old memories.
Staring at her mother’s eyes as they crinkled in laughter, they were a near perfect match to her own, excluding the color.
Even now, as the moonstone thrummed quietly in her chest, her eyes were still muted compared to her mothers.
She hadn’t seen eyes that blue since...
No...

The Blue Lady (Zhan Tiri) helped Cass find an old storage locker of her mother’s, which included a locket of her and Cass. It is here that she discovers on of her diaries and many the twists in her family tree.
Cass is Varian’s sister in the D-Crew AU and she’s just starting to clue in on it. Yes it makes sense- No, neither Ulla or Quirin are a*******. I’ll get to it.
The Moondrop does strange things to the host, even when it’s just a piece. Blue tint to the hair and eyes. A resistance to magic. Erratic rates of healing, dependent on the moon cycle. .
With the larger portion Cass has, it’s also affecting her internally. Her body is constantly in an in between of deterioration and restoration- hence the pitch like body fluids, such as tears.
Her arm had nearly completely rotted and had long since required amputation by the time she’d went to grab the Moonstone. Acquiring a new one- as clunky as it is, was the most time consuming task. Eventually she resulted in simply having to steal one and bully a doctor into installing a nerve port, covering the cybernetics in black rock where she could.
She’s... getting used to it.
We stand Immortal Dimension Jumper Ulla in this house- but that’s another post.
