I think Ulquiorra would be a hamster man.

Dogs would be too noisy and needy. Cats too much of an asshole sometimes.

Fish he'd have for sure, and enjoy because they're cold and calm and stately for the most part, but find a bit too finicky and burdensome and not affectionate enough in the end (thought he'd never outwardly admit that last to anyone but Inoue). For all that he values that cold aesthetic, he deeply craves warmth and affection.

Hamster's though: he can keep in an enclosed cage and devote hours to obsessively building popsicle stick enrichment cages and obstacle courses and tunnel systems for it and providing specialized food and different beddings of woodshavings and sand with every.

They can be super affectionate, but are mostly active only during certain times of day so not demanding all the time.

And they're small enough he can quietly take them everywhere if he wants without them getting in the way.
