The guardian 🔦 @iama_amorgos is a hugely inspiring person. I met him during Oceans and Flow on Amorgos. He explained about the herbs on the island the ancient knowledge the elders had about them and his quest to save it. After that he mixed us our unique „Meraki group“ scent. And then we saw him against he was guiding us through a contact dance session. I am glad I had the opportunity to paint him with light in return. No photoshop was used. Just long exposure and lights. One of my first Lightpaintings ever! At the #documenta13 (2012) I saw an interactive piece in complete darkness. At night I met the dancers who did it. And out of nowhere I had the idea to do Lightpaintings with them as I had my camera and tripod with me. With some lights we just had with us we improvised in front of this graffiti wall. And as they were dancers they were great at posing. We loved the results and I was hooked. This was my first Lightpainting shoot. Enlightenment This year I had the pleasure to meet and lightpaint Reinhard Kardinal Marx (the highest catholic dignitary in Germany). He and his entourage were very nice and open for some chat and lightpainting fun. It reminded me of the experiences of meeting the really powerful like Generals during my military service or Top Managers. I had the feeling that the really powerful I met didn’t have to prove their power (to me). It was the lower and middle ranks which tried to raise their light above others through arrogance and force - and thereby lost respect. 1000likes for 1000lights . While it is not wise to crave for likes and follower I still could not resist this game of words. (while it is 1000followers not likes, but that does not sound as good). 😜 Thank you @dodo_freediver (and the other 999 ones) for following me so my instagram account passed this magic number. This magic number which also happens to be my real family name as „Tausend“ means „thousand“. While writing these words my wonderful colleague @zweiundvierzig.cc just told me „You should have written beforehand that #1000 will get something special!“. To late for that now. 😱 I will make up for it: I will make an individual light painting photo for the 1000 liker on my facebook page (fb.com/1000lig).🎁 For this photo I played around with glasses we have at home and a #lumenman blade by @berauscher. And with photoshop. Lucid Dance 1 Live light painting performance by Ulrich Tausend (1000lights) and @trine_line . It was an honor to again light up this magical Lucid Summer Gathering 2017 at the lovely Spitzmühle with lightpainting. I asked people to take lights in their hands and just dance. While they were dancing Katrin and me then lit them up with a flash. No photoshop involved.
