An inktober prompt used for writing because I want to

The ring was ugly. Made from a paper clip, a plastic flower glued on, it was hideous. It was absolutely worthy of the laughter Adrien got when he held it up to Plagg, but he couldn't help the embarrassment he felt, how red and hot his cheeks got.
"I get it Plagg," he huffed, embarrassed, "I'm not an artist."
"And yet you still try," Plagg giggled. "But seriously, are you sure you wanna give her that? Maybe just buying her something would be better."
Adrien shook his head. "I made her a gift last year, it'd be weird if I just bought something instead."
"Imeanyou'rerichsoit'snotbigadealsooo," the kwami snickered, "Besides, why a ring? Are you gonna propose to her or something?"
His cheeks, oh his cheeks, they almost hurt as he sputtered so hard and they burned, he was certain that he not only sounded like a horse, but his face looked like a cherry.
"No-" he coughed, stuttered, "N-no. She's not my girlfriend Plagg. You know that! She's just a friend!"
Plagg sighed, muttered something he couldn't hear. The little kwami had smacked his hand (paw?) on his face. He let the limb slide down.
"Well, I'm gonna get some camembert, you want anything before I go?"
"No. Go away you stinky cheese cat." He swatted at kwami, who gleefully laughed as he zoomed out of view, hiding in his stash.
It was then that Adrien, sitting in his chair, laid back in it, letting out a huge sigh. He held the ring up with his thumb and his pointer, rotating it quietly.
She would like it, right? It wasn't a totally lame-o birthday gift? Adrien felt his eyes narrow. He was second guessing himself, again. He knew that if Ladybug was here, she would tell him to snap out it, to be proud, to present this ring in front of one of his very first friends, let her know how much she means to him.
But Ladybug wasn't here, probably wouldn't even understand. She was far from perfect, but she was close. So good and confident, could sweep anyone off their feet without even thinking about it. And Adrien? As Chat Noir, he felt confident, yeah, confident enough to flirt with the love of his life. But Adrien? Quiet Adrien? The new kid whom everyone saw as so good and perfect? No, Adrien couldn't do it. And he didn't know why. Was he truly that messed up? He let out a sigh. He closed his hand, trapping the ring inside.
Marinette. Sweet, kind, Marinette. The Marinette that hated him at first. The Marinette who gave him a second chance. The Marinette who was so good, it made him want to be better. Would she really laugh at him, for making something for her?
He thought back to her birthday, the way she lit up when he gave her that charm. He let out a new sigh, shakier, with signs of relief.
No. She wouldn't. She would love it. Love the stupid paper clip ring, with it's plastic flower glued on. She would wear it at least once. Showing everyone how much she loved it because he made it and gave it to her. No, she wouldn't hate it at all.
"Hey Plagg," Adrien called out, "I need a ring box."
I finally wrote a klance. it took 500 years but i did it.
EDIT: dont you love when you spend a solid hour editing and you STILL miss stuff? :))))
To be completely honest, Lance didn't hate Keith. Never had. Sure, Keith was....kinda dense, but he was good guy, and Lance likes him. Which was why he was absolutely horrified once he got wind of Keith's little "stunt".
So here they were, standing in a part of the castle where no one would find them. Lance stared Keith down, waiting for Keith to say something, anything, to defend himself. Keith did no such thing, only glancing at the floor, at the wall, the ceiling, anywhere that wasn't Lance. His arms were crossed, hugging himself. Frankly, it was frustrating. Here Lance was, trying to communicate, to get Keith to tell him what's wrong, and Keith wasn't doing anything.
"Keith," he finally said. Keith jumped, finally looking at Lance. "Keith, what the quiznack happened out there?"
Keith held Lance's stare. "What I had to do."
"So killing yourself?" Lance's voice raised. "How is THAT going to help anyone!?"
"We HAD to take that shield down Lance! What was I supposed to do, sit there and watch everyone blow up!?"
"I sure didn't want you to die for it!"
"Voltron and the rebels are more important than one life, Lance!"
Lance was taken aback. Where the heck did Keith learn this mindset?
"Keith," he said, "What is going on with you?"
"Nothing is going with me."
"Ke-"
"I get it okay? I was stupid and reckless and I shouldn't have done it. If I wanted to get lectured, I would've went to Shiro."
"Well too bad tough guy, cause I'm not done. You're staying right here, and you're answering my questions."
Keith glared back at him. "No."
"No!?"
"I'm a big boy, I don’t need to answer your questions, mom."
(Lance missed this, bickering with Keith till they were both pissed off and annoyed and they left each other alone. But this time, he couldn't storm off, or Keith will and...and...get himself killed..)
"This is your life Keith! You could've died!" Lance shouted, "You would've died! If it wasn't for Mr. Luscious Hair, we-...we..." His throat tightened. "I could've lost you."
Keith's eyes widened (was it..was it from the I? Lance cursed himself), before looking down. "I'm...I'm sorry Lance. I won't do it again."
(Lie.)
"Okay."
Keith made a move to leave.
"Come back." A whisper, not meant to heard.
Keith jolted, stopping in place. He turned back to Lance. "What?"
"I..." Lance made his voice clearer, louder, "Come back. To us, to Voltron."
Keith sighed. "Lance...I can't. The Blade needs me-"
"We need you."
"Lance-"
"No, explain this to me. There are hundreds of them-"
"Thousands, actually."
"Exactly Keith! There's so many of them, you're not needed there!"
"I'm not needed here either," Keith retorted.
"What're you-"
"There are 5 lions, you need 5 paladins. No more, no less. I have no reason to be here, Lance, other than to say hello. I'm useless here."
"You're not-" A horrible thought came the pilot. "It's me isn't it?"
"Is what you?"
"I'm the reason you left."
Lance seemed to hit the nail on the head, because Keith's eyes turned into saucer plates as he sputtered. "W-what! No! No no no! That's not it at all!"
"Don’t lie to me Keith."
"I'm not-"
"You are," Lance interrupted. The pieces were finally starting to come together. "I came to you, to talk about my insecurities. Once I did that, you started to distance yourself." Keith looked panicked, almost pained, but Lance kept going, "You haven't even touched Red since Shiro came back. I didn't get it at first. I thought it was because of the Blade."
"It was," Keith spoke up, "..in part."
"Yeah, I get now," Lance said, "But I don’t get why. Surely you don’t care about my feelings that much."
Keith seemed offended by that remark. "I've always cared about your feelings."
Ignoring the heat rising up in his cheeks, Lance responded, "I appreciate it, but when comes to war, my emotions about driving a war ship should be last in your mind."
"And yet, you want me to come back."
"Of course! I-you're a better pilot than me." (I miss you)
Keith shook his head. "Lance no. You're way better than me. I mean, Red called to you, I had to get thrown out into space in order for him to let me in."
"That doesn’t make your worth any less, You're my friend, Keith. I-we want you back."
"I can't Lance."
"Why?"
"I just-can't."
"Why!?"
"I. Can't."
"I want an answer Mullet."
"Yeah? Well too bad. Cause I don't have to." Keith pulled up his hood.
Lance grabbed him. "So what? I can tell you my insecurities, but you can't even be bothered to tell me what you got up your butt?"
"Why can't you drop it!?"
"BECAUSE I ALMOST LOST YOU!" Lance shouted. He could feel tears well up in eyes. He quickly blinked them away (nuh-huh. There was no way he gonna cry in front of Keith. His pride wouldn't allow it). And as Keith gaped back at him, Lance realized what he just said. "I mean...um.. We almost lost you, yeah. We. Us. Voltron."
"Lance..." Keith closed his mouth. Then opened. Closed. Open. Close.
Lance let go of Keith's wrist. Wiped his sweaty palms before remembering he was still in his armor.
"Well...um.." Lance fumbled for words (Keith certainly wasn't helping with that, still opening and closing his mouth like a freaking guppy).
How was this the moment that stunned them both into silence? How did Lance slip that I in a second time? Why can't he think of anything to say? Why was his face all warm again? When did Keith's face get so red?
"Lance? Keith?" Hunk. That was Hunk. Which meant his time was up.
Hunk popped into the room. "What are you guys doing in here? You've been gone a whole varga!" He turned to Keith. "Kolivan needs you, dude."
"Oh! Um." Keith glanced between Lance and Hunk before making a move to the door. "Thanks Hunk." Keith put his hand on the doorway. He stopped. "Hey...Lance?"
Lance swallowed. "Yeah?"
"I'll um..." Keith rubbed his thumb against the side of his pointer. "I'll see you soon."
"Yeah. Okay. Sure."
Keith nodded, heading out while the door closes behind him.
Once Keith was gone, Hunk turned to Lance. "Dude, what's with you and Keith?"
"It's nothing Hunk. Keith just can't handle my greatness," Lance said, attempting to save face. It seemed to have worked, since Hunk backed off and escorted him out of the random castle room.
But no matter how hard Lance tried, he couldn't chase away the nasty feeling in his stomach.
*bashes through ur dash* HOLY SHIT ITS GRAY GHOST WEEK!!! HERE, TAKE THIS! *throws fanfic at you, for the hunger games prompt*

To be quite honest, Valerie didn't really know how she ended up in an alliance with the boy from District 3. She simply didn't want to be near her fellow Careers, laughing as they murdered yet another tribute. Strange, really. She should be laughing along with them.
The boy from the 3rd district was quiet, poking a stick in their makeshift fire. This silent was awkward and strange, and Valerie didn't know how to feel about it. She had no idea what was going on in his raven-haired head, let alone his next move.
Valerie tried to think back to what she knew about him, anything that could possibly help, but her mind drew a blank. She kept to herself, tried not to notice any tributes other than the Careers. After all, Careers were bigger and stronger, she had no reason, really, to pay attention to any of the other tributes. (except maybe that Amber girl. Definitely that Amber girl) Boy, Val sure regretted that now. What she would give just to know the boy's name.
"I'm Danny," the boy said, answering her question. "You're... Valerie, right?"
She nodded. "Yes."
The boy-Danny-smiled, then frowned, as if thinking better of it. "So how long till I start running? Unless, don't tell, you're gonna kill me in my sleep."
Valerie played along, "Nah, I like to use my toys before I break them."
Danny snorted at that. "I'm a toy now?"
"Yes."
Smiles broke out on both of their faces.
"Ya know, for someone who comes from District 3, you're pretty funny."
"And for someone from District 2, you're not very murder-y."
Valerie raised her eyebrow. "Murder-y?"
"Yes."
She rolled her eyes. "Okay, smart guy." She picked up her bag, rummaging through its contents. No food. "Hey Danny, do you have any food?"
"I just ran out."
She cursed.
"How can you not have any food? You're a Career!"
"Not anymore."
It was night out. The Careers were hunting, and Valerie was starving. The human body could go one month without food. Surely she could handle one night.
"I'm going to bed," Danny told her, "Don't kill me in my sleep."
"Wouldn't dream of it. I'll keep watch."
Danny became dead to the world, leaving Val in awe of the trust he bestowed upon her. Twirling her knife in her hand, Valerie stared up at the night sky. Danny trusted her. She wondered if she would ever do the same for him.
"They didn't hurt you anywhere, did they?" Leorai please!
this is short im sorry. ^^;

“They didn’t hurt you anywhere, did they?” his eyes darted across her body, not resting until they reached her face, her eyes.
“Yes, I’m fine,” she answered. what about you?” It was a dumb question, considering the scratches and bruises that littered his body, but then again, Leo had tough skin, not to mention a high pain tolerance. It was best to ask.
“I’m alright,” he said, “Although I think I hit my head against that building.”
“Then that doesn’t mean you’re fine, dingus.” she answered, “You probably have a concussion.”
He chuckled. “Okay, so maybe I lied. But anyways… where are we?”
“In a alley, I think. The Foot’s gone.” Maybe. Possibly. She didn’t really know. She just woke up, and everything was gone. But they didn’t seem to be in any sort of trouble. And that was good, really good.
“Can you stand?” she asked him.
“Yeah, I’m good.” Leo stood up, using the wall to balance. He held out his hand to her. “Shall we get going, love?”
She rolled her eyes, accepting his hand. “Come on, you weirdo, we gotta get you to Don.”
"No one will save you." for ML //ifyourestillacceptingpromptshhhuff
yes i am still accepting thank you nonnie

“No one will save you,” Villain-of-the-week smirked at him, as if that’s enough to scare him.
“Oh? And what makes you so sure?” Chat replied. From where he was sitting, he looked around. Ladybug was no where to be found.
Well, it was still early. He thinks. Ladybug might still be looking for little miss villainess over here. Yes, that’s exactly what’s happening.
“Oh it’s quite simple,” they answered, “No one knows you’re gone.”
Ookaaay. That meant it was still early in the morning.Natalie, of course, would come to wake him up once Adrien neglected to show up for breakfast. Seeing he was not in his room, she would assume he had already left for school. His father didn’t care, which would mean that they, of course, wouldn’t know he was gone.
But what about his friends? Surely they would care and notice right? After all, Nino always meets up with him before school. Unless Nino thought Adrien was sick…
Oh shit.
He was gonna be here a while.
Unless he saved himself.
~
School was almost over, and Adrien was no where to be found.
Granted, it wasn’t really all that weird. Adrien has been absent before (those days being absolutely horrible!). Sick days, photo shoots, they weren’t unusual, to say the least.
Rather, it was the nature of Adrien’s disappearance that was concerning.
According to Nino, Adrien neglected to pick up his phone. After calling Adrien’s house, it was deducted that his family didn’t know where he was as well.
He was just gone. Without a trace.
It was becoming rather hard to study.
BAM!
Everyone, Marinette included, jerked their heads to the door.
“Aw geez, I’m late aren’t I? I’m really late.”
Everyone stared at the model. his hair was disheveled, a mess. Bags drooped under his eyes, clothes hastily thrown on.
He was a mess, to put it bluntly.
“…I’ll excuse it just this once. Please, just take your seat.”
Adrien nodded, rushing to his seat next next to Nino. People continued to stare.
“A-alright! enough staring! Back to work! Get back to your notes!” The teacher shouted.
Everyone rushed back to their work. Well, except for Nino, who was pestering Adrien about what happened, most likely.
Actually, that was a good question. What happened?
~
“Why hello, my lady~! What brings you here on such a fine night?”
Ladybug looked behind her. Chat Noir grinned back at her, looking particularly talkative tonight.
Although he did look tired.
“I’m patrolling,” She replied, “There might be another akuma out.”
He raised an eyebrow, intrigued. “Oh?”
“Yes. My classmate was gone almost the whole day.”
“Is it possible they were just sick?”
“No. I said almost all day, remember? They came bursting in during science class. They were a mess. They claimed they were kidnapped.”
“Kidnapped? By who?”
“He… didn’t know. A strange creature that disguised itself as his friend.”
“That definitely sounds like an akuma.”
“Yes I know, we need to hurry before it kidnaps someone else!” She ran off, knowing Chat would follow her.
“WAIT NO!”
Ladybug halted, looking back at her partner, who just barely managed to catch up. “What!?! What wrong!?”
“You can’t go that way!”
She tensed. What did Adrien say about that akuma? “Why not?” He hesitated. “Why not Chat!?”
“Hold on! Let me talk why dontcha!” Chat shouted.
Shouted. He shouted. Chat never shouts. Not at her, at least.
Now that she looked at him, really looked at him. Everything about him seemed off. Chat’s costume looked a bit grayish, dull. Even his stance seemed off. He was standing upright, tense, like her. Even in serious situations, he had never been known to give off an aura like this. Cold, indifferent, emotionless.
A shapeshifter.
“You’re not Chat,” she whispered, “Who are you? Where is Chat!? What did you do to him!?”
‘Chat’ looked taken aback, if only for a second, then he smiled. “Alright, you got me,” they replied.
Their face began to morph. They grew taller, almost towering above Ladybug. Facial features sharpened. A larger nose. Darker, longer hair. Plump lips. They were beautiful. They were deadly.
They knew where Chat Noir was.
“You asked me who I was,” they said, “I am the Illusionist, and I am here to gather your miraculous.” they held up a white ring. “I have already collected Chat Noir’s-or should I say Adrien Agreste’s miraculous. Now all I need is yours.”
Wait what? Adrien and Chat… Were the same person?
She disregarded it for now. Right now, she needed to focus.
“So before at school.. That was you?”
They nodded. “Yes. You see, I prefer to work in secret. So I disguised myself, to not arouse suspicion.”
Ladybug nodded, eyes darting back and forth. The bracelet on their wrist was highly out of place. Score.
“Alright,” she said, “I have one more question. Is Adrien alive?”
“For now,” they answered, “Stop stalling. Either you give me your miraculous, or i take it by force. What do you choose?”
The Illusionist gasped as Ladybug’s yo-yo wrapped itself around their wrist, yanking them closer to the heroine.
The man was not guilty, yet she had lied and declared him treasonous anyways.
And now here he was, watching his best friend, no, his we could’ve been so much more at trial. A freaking trial.
And with his mother’s current mental state, he knows exactly what’s coming next for Gabe.
Death by guillotine.
And so, Andrius sat, fists clenched in his lap. Looking down at the floor, he prayed to whatever all-powerful being that held the power to give and take away life. But he knew it was futile. Any god that was up there would never listen to a non-believing sinner like him.
But still, he prayed.
It was his mother’s voice that broke him out of his stupor.
“Gabriel Murphy, you have been charged with the abduction of my only son,” she gestured to Andrius. “As well as treason against the royal family. How do you plead?”
A muffled sob was heard. Gabe’s mother.
Oh god no.
“Not guilty, Your Majesty.”
It wasn’t fair. It wasn’t fair and it didn’t make sense. Gabe has been serving the royal guard for years now, hell, he and Gabe grew up together. And Rachel’s been his nanny for his whole childhood! Mom liked Gabriel (or at least, Andrius thought she did)! So why, why was his mother doing this!?! Didn’t she want him to be happy?
She doesn’t want happiness, she wants power.
“-I hereby sentence you to de-”
“MOM! Please, don’t do this!”
The queen turned to him, eyes narrowing. Out of the corner of his eye, he could make out the shocked faces of Rachel and Gabriel.
Bad move.
“What,” she said, “Did you just stay to me?”
“I said,” he could feel his confidence weakening, “Don’t do this. I’ve told you time and time again, he didn’t kidnap me. I get it okay! I’ve been a bad kid, I’ll do whatever you want! Just please, please don’t kill him!”
He was begging, how pathetic.
He could care less.
There was a long silence, the queen and her son staring deep into each others eyes. Andrius’s mother was crazy, maniacal. Cold and manipulative. She was thinking, looking at him but not really. It was then Andrius realized what he done.
He’d sentenced Gabriel to a fate worse than death.
“Alright,” she finally spoke, “I won’t kill him.”
Rachel breathed a sigh of release. Andrius stayed tense, on edge.
“But he still committed an act of treason, even if you don’t want to believe it. And thus, he must be punished.”
A gasp was heard.
“I sentence you, Gabriel Murphy, to a lifetime in exile.”
NO.
He couldn’t breathe. He couldn’t breathe. He could feel the world crumbling around him. He was dying.
Gabe let a word of... what? Protest? Reassurance? Andrius never got to know, for soon after, he was out of the nearly empty courtroom by those damned guards.
