So this happened last weekend at Ultimates and I’m still internally screaming.
I’m deceased😭❤️😭❤️😭
So apparently someone said something disrespectful at the Ultimates. What was said cause no one is saying what it was. I’m just curious.
Ultimates 2019
The weekend was amazing, the photos I took are not. This was my first time at a Starfury event in The Hilton, and I've gotta say I'm disappointed with the height of the stage. Having said that, the talks were great, I managed to see the talks of guests I'd never seen before (Missed the sanvers panel after getting called for autos, again) and I enjoyed the stories a lot. I got all my autographs, apart from two extra guests which was as expected, and my photo shoots with Chyler, Floriana and Brianna were excellent.
I won't be discussing what happened during and after the supergirl panel on the Saturday, I wasn't there. I will say that some "fans" need to actually think about what being a fan means and need to think about how they're interacting with real people on social media with real feelings. Be mindful of real world repercussions to your actions when you post.
Both myself and @freeingupyourlife have gold tickets for next year; that comes with better positions in the hall and a meet & greet as well, so I expect to get better pictures in 2020.
Friday night cosplay for Ultimates is coming along nicely...
(Excuse the lack of hair and make up)
I may word this wrong so forgive me I don’t mean offence to anyone. So this weekend there has been a lot of showing of Pride, Bi/Trans etc but as always very little is said or shown of Asexual or Aromantic pride, and while I understand that one reason is because so few people are either aware of it or understand it. I do sometimes feel we are left aside. I want to make a post/ a video maybe about the two. but I thought given i’m working on my photos from the convention i’d try a little explanation of..my view
So. my Parabatai who is Asexual has a saying “I’m not an artist but I can still appreciate art,” it goes a little way to explaining Asexuality to those who can’t understand it. And while It is not all that bad an explanation for either Aro or Ace people. I (Aromantic Asexual) maintain I don’t feel any form of ‘like’ for men or women in equal measure, i can still appreciate the beautiful of a soul and sometimes, rarely their outward embodiment of that beauty. but then I always get asked for an example and most examples I give few people have heard of, its because 'popular’ people rarely have both sides of the coin, making explaining awkward.
But every so often someone steps into the light who has both elements. no one has recently been a good enough example of this for me…till season 4 of Supergirl introduced Nia Nal/Dreamer aka Nicole Maines, she is a sweet and genuine person, but also she is a talented actress, and if i may say stunningly beautiful.
if anyone has any questions about Asexuality or Aromantic-ness feel free, i’m actually wanting you to question. i encourage it,
oh and if you don’t know who Nia/Dreamer/Nicole is. here is possibly my best picture of a woman on the phone EVER
I never cry meeting a guest but I couldn't hold my emotions for Hannah John-Kamen. I just love her. Dutch is one of my all time favorite character. Thank you @starfuryconventions for giving me the chance to meet Hannah. I hope her 1st con will be as much of an amazing memory as for us fans.
