they have been best friends since they were 16 and met at the academy and graduated at the youngest to date together. Fitz risked his life to save her when she had an alien virus. He was sacrificing his life to save her when the were in the ocean and she saved him in return bringing him up 90 feet of ocean water. Jemma watched him in a coma during the 9 longest days in her life and eventually thought leaving was the best choice for him. She tried to off ward and largely can be because of what he did to him. Fitz then spent months searching the ends of the earth and rescued her from an alien planet. She risked her life to save him from an evil robot and plugged herself into an alternate reality and even pointed a gun at his father in the framework. He froze himself 74 years into the future to reunite with her and saved her from kasius. After he died, she traveled across the galaxy for a year until she found him and even sacrificed herself to the chronicoms to be reunited. After taking some years to rest together, when Jemma went back on the final mission she wore a implant to block the memories of him and their daughter to protect him and potentially risking her mind being messed with in the process. They wont create another ship like them <3
not everyone gets the complexity of season 5 Fitz like I do but that's okay
headcanon that fitz needs to hug something to calm down, whether that be a plushie, a pillow, a blanket, jemma, or a wall (season 1). And he does it whenever he needs to sleep as well
marvel fans who havent watched agents of shield have no idea that coulson literally married the show's main couple and when he told them he was dying in case he didn't make it back from trying to close the rift he wanted Fitzsimmons to go through with the wedding anyways as he saw them as representation of hope
