The growing media consensus that "China is quickly becoming the most important (enemy) country in the world" - from Obama's 'Pivot to Asia' through trumps tariff's to Elizabeth Warren's intimidation pledge - should be understood as such: if the US were do an oopsie and expand our Afghanistan occupation into China, or Accidentally™ step a lil too much in the South China Sea, that would be irreparably disastrous to the US economy. The US ruling class recognizes this, and although they are willing participants in an anti-satanic suicide cult, they're not at that stage of reckless abandon (yet). They want to relocate production away from China (mainly to other south/east Asian countries, only rly to the US when it's profitable), thus loosening the tie for when the Always Stumbling US Empire inevitably "aw shucks :/"'s it's way into hot war.
This must be opposed. Regardless of if you wanna call Xi Jinping a dictatorial Winnie the Pooh or not. Even the "cautious, rational" proposed actions of Warren would undo more & more binds, so that even if she doesn't trigger it, she's given the next president permission to not have to give a shit about her attempted carefulness.
The only way out is to do whatever we can to break down the artificial isolation making us in the US see Chinese workers as our competition, instead of our fellow captives. Find people's stories, learn Mandarin, read Chuang, go on chinese-targeted social media apps (or try & make friends w workers @ Chinese/east asian businesses in your area) & talk to everyday ppl, instead of the specific milieus who have learned english/have a good VPN. Build bonds of international solidarity, bc that's the only way out of this hellhole.
