An unexpected newcomer with tremendous potential, who has drawn the laser focus of both factions. Ultra Magnus is protective of the rookie, warning of (in his opinion) the most dangerous Decepticon and doing his damnedest to keep them from engaging in battle: Cyclonus.
Magnus keeps telling Zelus that he sees greatness in them, is proud of them and how far they've already gone, but insist they aren't ready. Or they are, but they must learn the Autobot Code. Or they do, but they must fuel up before the fight (whoops, took too long). Or they manage to arrive in time, but they must attend to the casualties and do not engage... ad nauseum.
Having their wings metaphorically clipped to be "kept safe" despite Zelus' desire to do more may just drive them away from Magnus and the Autobots into the enigmatic enemy SIC's arms, who watches this new cadet with anticipation from a distance.
Named for the foremost trait of the one who carried them. Recessive optic color passed down from the very same.
Zelus for short, Zel for even shorter, EZ for shortest.
