I bought these Ultramarines second hand, with the intent to strip them and repaint. Now that I have them, though, they're just so well done that I can't bring myself to! The blood of Calth is spilt, and the Nemesis Chapter is unleashed. I am extremely pleased with this tester model. The Two Thin Coats Battle Mud Wash is exactly what I wanted, underhive dirt in a bottle. I don't know how I'm going to base the Ultramarines yet - the main force, after all, will be on 25mm bases with only about 30 actual space marines. My test purchase of Ultramar Auxilia arrived today, a little box of 3D printed friends that may well turn into a very large army! The scale looks good, and I love the designs. When I get chance, I think they'll look great based up for Zone Mortalis alongside my new Ultramarines. Also arriving this morning were my wardrobes, so my hobby for the next few days is going to be primarily at the 1:1 scale. I'm presently camped out in a nest on the fold out bed in my office, with my doors partially barricaded with half-built cabinetry.
