@ultraxagent promised me this will end in cuteness.
She still wasn’t used to being looked at instead of looked through. It was something that gave her an exhilarating rush and brought a smile to her face every time her and Alex went out on a date. At the same time, she found comfort from the overwhelming feelings by wrapping her small arm around Alex’s, hooking their arms close and keeping her shoulder pressed close to him as possible.
They had just left the movie theatre and were walking back to their apartment building --well, walking for the most part, at least. It was fun, pretending to be normal-- when Clarissa heard a familiar hum in her mind, her head whipping behind her as she walked, stumbling as her foot caught the uneven pavement.
Casimiro. Go home.

@ultraxagent, for the lair dweller verse.
Because these fucking nerds mannnn.
AU of Season 1B
When Ultra was founded with the help of Aldus Crick, Jedikiah Price and Roger Price, Hugh Bathory (The Founder) hid his personal agenda from his fellows. He not only wanted to be the van guard for the homosuperior species… He wanted to eradicate most of the useless homosapiens from the earth so their kind, with their god given gifts, could have the life they deserved.
There was peace between humans and the tomorrow people (TPs) for quite a few years, until Roger discovered just the tip of the plot that would lead them all to a path of war. The machine he was sure he was creating to help their species was doing not just that, but more. The machine was not a portal or a helpful tool, but a weapon, used to destroy humanity and boost the homosuperiors from hidden in the shadows to being the lone rulers of the earth.
The Founder’s plan was simple. The machine needed a TP capable of stopping time (chronokinetic) to operate. When the machine was turned on, especially by a powerful chronokinetic, it had the ability to affect large areas (more than cities, whole sections of the American continent bigger than Texas) and freeze humans in a time-lock.
Since TPs were unable to kill, but a time-locked human was technically not living. And it was much more expedient to blast them to pieces with a simple telekinetic hit. So, The Founder needed a powerful telekinetic, one who’s blast (or Push) could take out a large area… especially one who’s powers could focus on the organic cells of a time locked human.
To transport the machine far and wide for a quick and detailed sweep of the world, he would need a teleporter, who could move the machine, the chronokinetic and the telekinetic in one long distance jump from one epicenter to the next.
Then, all that would be left would be their species. And, knowing many would have ties to the human population through family or friends, The Founder would need to be aware of any and all challenges to his plans. A powerful telepath would do just fine, being able to monitor any plots against him with a long sweep of their power.
Since TPs were not effected by the power of the machine, the solution was simple. He would need a TP able to kill. Not only to take out his enemies, but to protect the four TP and himself. His original idea on having all four of his elite TP able to kill was dashed by a low success rate in the beta testing, so he had reframed it to include the 5th. One who was loyal to him, and who would be able to protect the others as their leader and organizer. Fond of the greek mythos, he named the fifth “Anax”, the military leader who would raze the homo sapiens from the earth. The five together were his Titans, the original rulers, and he would be the titan’s king, until one more worthy earned his place. He knew it would not be an easy process, so he did not simply put all of his time and energy into one of each power. Instead, he demanded experimentation on many, wanting to build their powers to his approval, and letting bodies be carried out through the Anax project’s abysmal survival rate.
But, as time went on, the plan seemed to fall to pieces in his hands. After Roger went AWOL from Ultra, most likely imparting his knowledge to his brother, the two Anax project survivors, John and Killian were thrown to the winds, the former turning rebel and the latter going mad.
But it didn’t stop his plans. The Anax project was pushed aside until it could be re-worked in a much more beneficial way with a higher survival rate, and the experimentation in the Citadel continued, Jedikiah believing he was studying the TP, but The Founder pulling the strings from behind the curtain.
You see, the thing is, all Tomorrow People have a specialty. Most demonstrate more control over one gift than the others. Some excel finesse in one power. He watched these the most. His own daughter’s gift of being able to manipulate her teleporting power to exclude herself but transport other objects was a sight to behold — and why shouldn’t it be, she was a synergist born of two powered parents?
Others were more surprising. A girl from no known gifted ancestors with an acute manipulation of telekinesis in the pushing variety who he personally picked up from the streets and her brother (who turned out to be mediocre at best, but showed great strength and strategy). The two older children of Roger, synergists, gifted with chronokinesis like their father. A boy discarded in the dumpster, who grew into a man that not only had an admirable grip of teleporting like his own daughter, but was also one of two surviving anax patients. A formerly deaf and mute young woman who could push out the most powerful telepaths he knew of. A young man who used his telekinesis to rob casinos blind. A small girl who could cast a powerful psionic shriek, a telekinetic attack on the ear drums. An Ultra agent who had no better handle on his powers, but proved his loyalty more than once. His own son, turned rebel, gifted in telepathy to the point of causing physical pain to the victim. An innocent girl capable of causing great destruction…
The most recent manifestation of his plans was reviewing footage from the night Stephen Jameson and his rebel friends got away from Jedikiah in the nick of time. If they weren’t all rebels, they would have fit the first draft of his plan perfectly, with John being both the teleporter and the anaxed soldier. Alas, they were living in fear of Ultra, and his studies continued more diligently on his other potential candidates.
He kept a list, adding names as he discovered them. [* potential or watched status (’Rebels’)] Chronokinetics Stephen Jameson* Stephanie Jameson* Telekinetics Luci McKinley Clarissa Tellemanca Russell Kwon* Charlotte Taylor*
Teleporters John Young* Cassandra Smythe
Telepaths Liam (Bathory) McKinley* Cara Coburn* Errol Olsson
Anaxed soldiers Killian McCrane(?) John Young* Alexander Ross* Casimiro Tellemanca*
The list went on. And carefully, from the shadows, he watched. And he waited, experimenting on those he had access to, while quietly ensuring the others in the rebel camp were able to cultivate their powers with the hopes of one day influencing them to his side (or by force, he did not find either a problem).
One day, he would have his Titans, and humanity would fear their terrifying powers.
@ultraxagent somehow found Clari’s fave bar and now the night is *Stewie Griffin voice* ruined.
“Fuck off, Agent, I’m drinking and not in the mood to throw you through this wall right now. Try again later.”
"You asked to see me, Sir? I apologize for my lateness - there was an interrogation that I was overseeing that needed to be finished properly." -ultraxagent
“I did yes.” Hugh gestured to the chair in front of his (borrowed) desk. It was much more comfortable than it looked. “Is everything handled now? I’d be happy to take report.”
