Nope, great dane is from German, despite it's name! In German the breed is called ‘Deutsche Dogge’, but there's a few various reasons why anywhere else the name is "great dane".

I watched the first anime (and the movie) first so it kinda like it BUT it's a bit unlogical, brotherhood follows the manga more

(i meant to reply something happened) anyway brotherhood is also a bit more complicated and the character improvement is better
