the ever-present Theba pisana has no respect for personal space and is more social than you'd think, so it's not uncommon to find them in funny Configurations™ like a little ring around a flower, sprinkled all over a big bush like berries, or in this case, using spanish broom stems to form a nice snail kebab

i've previously mentioned how Theba pisana gets in the way of every poor bug that wants to be left alone, and this peaks in early summer when all the adults are out and haven't been eaten yet. on the left here we have Runcinia grammica, whose intricately developed ambush predator skills are being thwarted by two colorful circles marking her presence, and on the right an Oedemera barbara is forced into a horribly uncomfortable position in order to have a simple pollen meal

Theba pisana are stupid idiot lazy snails that don't hide when it's too dry (aka 90% of the year where i live) but cluster out in the open instead, often on flowers. this leads to a lot of accidental hugs from random pollinators that i like to call #mysnail moments, like with this Bruchidius here
