"So..." The heels of Sausage's shoes echo harshly in the large room. "I hear you know a thing or two, is that right?" "A thing or two about what?" The man mused, uninterested. Sausage turned away from him, spreading his arms wide. "About immortality! Eternal youth! You've got the secret, right? I'm sure we can make a deal..."

For the first time in nearly a decade, Tenna’s finally visiting Cyber City again— an oasis of civilization surrounded by miles and miles of barren wasteland. Arriving on the final subway in of the night, Tenna and his two companions— Ramb and (small) Mike— settle tentatively in to their stay at Queen’s mansion while Tenna irons out the details of an upcoming business venture in the city.

The night he arrives, he encounters a strange man along the streets— a strange man who claims to be Spamton, but… that can’t be right. The Spamton he knew is nothing like this man.

As they’re arguing, all at once, the entire city’s power grid goes down— total blackout. When this happens, the thing the man was saying is entirely cut off— like a broadcast cut short.

Surely this couldn’t be him. Spamton wasn’t… he didn’t… no. No. Tenna shakes his head.

“Look,” Tenna starts, “I haven’t got all night— deals to make tomorrow— and if all you wanted was to pick a fight, then I think we’re done here.” He steps past the puppet, starting back towards the queen’s palace. “And, if I may,” he calls over his shoulder, “perhaps clean yourself up a bit— no big shot I’ve ever known would let himself decay this much.

“AS IF YOU EVER—“

Darkness, all at once. Hundreds of projectors shut down as a sharp silence replaces all noise.

Tenna whips around.

Every window is dark, every streetlight is off. Hundreds of previously flashing displays suddenly gone, the sidewalk now left in overbearing shadow. Every looming building casts even more darkness into every corner. Only the sickly moonlight remains, obscured in partial clouds— that, and the piercing light of his screen, harshly bouncing off every surface he faces. It’s almost hard to see, the glare constant in his vision.

And… what of him?

Reeling back slightly, the puppet brings one hand loosely up towards his open mouth, not a sound coming out, eyebrows shot up in surprise. He clicks his mouth shut, opens it again as if to say something else.

Silence, for a moment. Then, in the smallest voice: “[Cathode]?”

“I— I need to—“ Tenna stutters, stepping back again, “I need to. Get back.”

Without another word, Tenna spins on his feet, setting into a near jog back to the palace— back to his room.

Away from… whatever that was.

As the blackout persists, as the shadows start to grow and move and hunger, a group is forced to come together to try to solve all this— try to bring back the light.

Other-Jaiden makes one last, horrible screech, and then completely falls apart, leaving a puddle of dark sludge in its place.
