Being a Larrie is not JUST about this sweater or any of the other clothes they've shared throughout the years. It’s not JUST about all the complementary tattoos they’ve inked on their skin. It’s not JUST about the lyrics they've written. It not JUST about the tour dates they’ve synced up not once but twice. It’s not JUST about them being MIA at the same time. Or the never-ending list of coincidences that always seem to swirl around JUST the 2 of them. It's about all of it. 

Because being a Larrie isn’t about shipping two men because of old videos of their sweet, innocent glances or soft touches or the endless rumours set to music. It’s not about shared receipts (proven or othewise) or their shared interests, friends they have in common or their families closeness. It’s about all of those things and more. Each on their own, when viewed individually, don’t look to amount to anything but a coincidence. Except that when that list of cOinciDenCes is endless and only ever involves them, it’s hard to ignore.

This isn’t just about THIS Umbro sweater. The sweater is just a stand in for all the other things that have come before. So when we see Harry wearing blue and green to a radio interview, we know. So when we hear the words Princess Park in the lyrics of Habit, we know. So when Harry HAD to sing “Still the One” with Kacey wearing rainbow dress, we know. So when the news media tries to tell us Louis is in LA but his gf spent the whole summer implying they’ve been together every day since quarantine, we know. When Harry shares a colour swatch with Harry Lambert and says his outfit has to be “this shade, has to be this blue”, we know. When both Harry and Louis say in interviews that they love how clever we are because we always figure stuff out, we know. 

We could spend the next 2 days arguing whether the shirt is Louis’ shirt or not. I think it’s safe to say based on their history and all the coiNcidenCes, that the shirt is most likely the same shirt. But even if it weren’t the same, it wouldn’t disprove everything that came before. 

So the takeaway is this, if being a Larrie is based on 10+ years of coincidences that still continue to this day, that’s ONE HELL OF A COINCIDENCE. Maybe it’s time to stop saying it’s a coincidence and accept that maybe, just maybe, there’s something there.

yes i have the exact same one! i got a green one first because the blue and white/grey is harder to find, but then i was finally able to get the same larry one after looking forever 😂

You should lend it to Louis just to wreak some havoc in the fandom 😜. Half of the fandom would go "see it's not the same one!" and the other half (including myself) would go "but that's not the point!!!!" haha.

about the umbro shirt bc it’s my favorite thing ever, 1. harry never wears umbro (the umbro shirt might be the only thing he’s worn from them lol) 2. i searched for months! for one and had to get mine the minute it was posted bc they’re so rare I LOVE IT it’s so weird! that they have that exact same shirt 🤭

No, he doesn't usually wear umbro lol. Do you have the exact same? I'm now imagining H trawling the internet for months so that he could buy the exact same sweater as Louis, his mortal enemy, just so he could larriebait lol. Louis must be so pissed. He just did a larry denial too! Lol.

Except for Kate on twitter, is there really anyone else disputing the fact that it's the same sweater? It's not two of a kind nor to similar looking ones, it's the same sweater. Anything else would be too much of a coincidence. We already know they're together, and have shared clothes before, so the most probable is that it's the same one. If people also understood it's not about the sweater, but the message H is sending, we wouldn't even be having this discussion.

I really can not take anyone seriously who does not believe it is the same umbro shirt. Even the fashion blogs were having to admit it was the same.

Me neither. It's vintage and not for sale anymore. What are the chances of both H and L having extremely similar looking sweaters, but not the exact same one? And when Harry recognises he's got the similar, but not same sweater as Louis, he keeps wearing it, fully knowing mind, that larries believe it's the same sweater and the chaos he's going to cause, and the signal he's going to send by wearing it.

So either Harry is larriebaiting with a sweater that isn't the same one, but which larries and the fashion accounts have deemed the same one, or he's signaling that larry is real by wearing Louis' sweater. Either way, it has the same effect on fandom, and the message he's sending is the same - larry is real.
