actually im not sure how common knowledge this is or if anyone has already pointed it out- but the way they wrote ryker's speech pattern in japanese, they use a specific register that's mostly used by charming young men, it feels a little condescending when used with superiors but it conveys a very charming persona with girls or young children...... the fact they gave this sorta speech pattern to ryker of all people shattered my brain at incredible speeds
