Fandom Meme: Rogue One
The first character I fell in love with: I kind of came into this movie already in love with characters like Leia Organa, Mon Mothma and Bail Organa, but I don’t know if they count? So errr Jyn I suppose.
The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: All of them??????????? Like I thought that because I was going in expecting them all to die, I’d be able to keep enough emotional distance to make it through the film without a breakdown but NOPE.
The character everyone else loves that I don’t: wow one doesn’t really exist??????????????
The character I love that everyone else hates: I really love the way Saw’s character was built up in the expanded canon universe before this movie, and felt it worked. We saw him in what had to be his 20s or 30s learning guerilla tactics from Ahsoka, Anakin and the 501st, and how the death of his sister really affected him. We met him again in Catalyst, and learned of how he formed a rebel cell there. In Rebels season 2 he and his cell is mentioned by Agent Kallus, and Zeb reacts in a way that makes it clear he understands who Saw is. In Bloodline Leia is asked to justify the actions of Saw and his rebels and she just responds by getting angry and deflecting. So before the film happened we had a very clear picture of this man forming already, and I thought the man we saw in the movie fit what we had heard before. Then Rebels season 3 gave us a two part episode about him to further cement the way he is and I just.. ugh the novelization of Rogue One has so many good moments about Jyn seeing him as more a father to her than Galen ever was or could be, and how much she really does love him and he loves her and it was just…… yeah. So I am going to go with Saw.
The character I would shag anytime: If Jyn Erso came back from beyond the grave and then wanted to do the do, I would not say no. I also would be rather pleased if Mon Mothma found herself in this dimension and was interested.
The character I’d want to be like: All of them? Honestly, there is at least one aspect of every single Rebel character I would love to embody myself.
The character I’d slap: Orson Krennic. Also please Orson no, Galen isn’t going to want to make out work with you if you murder his wife and keep him trapped, I mean seriously dude remember how he spooked and ran when all you were doing was lying to him about what he was working on and surveilling his home? What made you think stepping up that gross evil creepy factor was the way to get him on your side? Also while I am slapping Imps, Tarkin. (I’d try to slap Vader as well but I doubt he’d feel it through his helmet). Oh and Draven possibly (I look forward to inevitably seeing him and Hera have words at some point on Rebels, there is no way she will get along with him)

A pairing that I despise: Krennic/anything other than rejection
Favorite character: Jyn
What are my favorite things about the fandom.: I have been so pleasantly surprised by how well recieved this movie was by just about every corner of the Star Wars fandom I engage with.
What are my least favorite things about the fandom.: What is my least favorite thing about the Star Wars fandom specific to Rogue One???? Oh no I really think this is too complex to get into.
Who are my three favorite characters.: Oh no this is too hard.
Who are my three least favorite characters.: Ok I don’t dislike them in the bad character sense (they are very good characters) but in the as people sense? Tarkin, Krennic, and oh let’s go with someone who isn’t an Imp.. oh! The tentacle monster I am super uncomfortable with, the Bor Gullet.
What are my three favorite pairings.: Baze and Chirrut, Jyn and Cassian, and K-2SO/Snark
What are my three least favorite pairings.: I don’t want to start contemplating who is even in this movie to ship in a bad way.
Which character are you most like.: I honestly do not know.
