It Is Pretty Darn Hard Keeping Up Here!
It has been too long, far too long. I’ll need to do another photo-dump soon.
The problem is we’re out and about so much and by the time we get home, we’re shattered, I’ve forgotten to take photos and if I’ve any energy to write, I should really be working once Leo’s asleep!
Anyway, I’ve thought of a way of keeping a note of some of the stuff he’s learning. I’m going to have a few extra blogs for things like documentaries we’ve watched or shows we’ve seen. Here is the one for the documentaries and educational films. I’ll do one about the shows we’ve seen later. It’ll be easier to just paste a link with a quick line when we watch a documentary, which we probably do about twice a week.
We’re back into the swing after the (really long!) Easter break.
Monday am - Baby-Boot-Camp
Monday pm - Drama
Tuesday am - Mini-Movers
Tuesday pm - Visit Granny and Grandpa
Wednesday - Nothing at the moment, although I think we will start to go to the Christian group maybe once a month.
Thursday - Either Nature Tots in Contin, or if diesel is low and money is tight, Leo and daddy do a similar thing here, we’ve several friends who are interested in joining us too. One of whom may well be home-educated too.
Friday am - Home-ed group in Dingwall
Friday pm - Baby-Boot-Camp
Saturday am - Family-Boot-Camp
We’re supposed to be fitting trampolining, athletics, little dragons and swimming in to the week too, but quite honestly, I’m not sure how we’ll manage or afford that.
I’m thinking it might be a good idea to have a lazy summer term just hanging around, seeing friends, practising reading and typing, really focusing on learning to write, draw and colour in etc.
We’ve got the social interactions sorted now, he’ll happily run up to kids of any age and ask to join in playing football and will happily dance and sing in front of people (AT LAST!) So, now, I think it is maybe time to concentrate on those important skills which he’s told me he is desperate to learn. (Or I assume the constant “What does that say?” “Read this to me Mummy” “When will I know what that says?” means he’s ready.) And those he’s not so keen on (like how to colour in) but which really are going to come in quite important if he still wants to be an engineer / plumber / Stig’s friend / farmer when he grows up.
There was a new mum at drama today, we’d met before months ago when the kids started playing at The Hidden Gem but not seen each other since. Turns out her little one will be home-schooled too. So, I’ve told her about our home-ed meet-up group in Dingwall - not that we’ve actually met up yet, but this week we will! (Hopefully!)
Must dash, will make the “Plays We’ve Seen” blog another day.
