UNAMID conducts free medical clinic in IDP Camp in West Darfur

The event, part of the AU - UN Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) community outreach activities, was organized by the UN peacekeepers from #Bangladesh and was aimed at providing free medical assistance to vulnerable local people.

Darfur Women Talk Peace

On April 9, UN peacekeeping mission in Darfur (@UNAMID) organized a two-day photo exhibition and flea market at mission headquarters in El Fasher, North Darfur as part of the Darfur Women Talk Peace Campaign. The on-going campaign aims at building and improving the economic situation of women in Darfur. 31 women participated in the two-day event.

The campaign, launched in March 2015, has since been extended to various localities in the North Darfur state. The project aims to empower women through income-generating activities. In addition, women can use such gatherings to spread messages of peace to their families and communities.

Les Femmes du Darfour parlent de paix

Le 9 avril, la mission de maintien de la paix des Nations Unies au Darfour (@UNAMID) a organisé une exposition de photos et un marché aux puces durant deux jours au siège de la mission à El Fasher, dans le nord du pays, dans le cadre de la Campagne pour la paix des femmes au Darfour.

La campagne en cours vise à créer et à améliorer la situation économique des femmes. 31 femmes ont participé à l'événement de deux jours.

La campagne, lancée en mars 2015, a depuis été étendue à diverses localités de l'État du Darfour-Nord.

Le projet vise à responsabiliser les femmes par des activités génératrices de revenus. En outre, elles peuvent utiliser de tels rassemblements pour diffuser des messages de paix.

As part of its protection of civilians mandate, the Mission’s peacekeepers conduct regular patrols across Darfur, aimed at enhancing security conditions for the large numbers of displaced people residing in camps.
