Headcannons for being Jason Todd's daughter?
- You were actually the one to find Jason. He was injured after a fight with Black Masks thugs, and you managed to drag his unconscious body to an abandoned building where you hunker down until it’s safe.
- When Red Hood wakes up you refuse to leave his side. He was one of the few vigilantes the people of Crime Alley could count on, and you’d be damned if he died on your watch. So you helped drag him home, patched him up, and watched over him as he slept it off.
- When Red Hood finally woke up, he decides that you can stay (He can’t really make you leave, so he just accepts that you’re staying). He tells you that his name is Jason, and the two of you make dinner together.
- You and Jason move to a new apartment (Still in Crime Alley, of course), but this one’s bigger, it gives you your own room. Jason helps you decorate the new room, and buys actual furniture for the living room and kitchen. He even takes you out to get a whole new wardrobe, and to enroll in school, because “School is important, Y/N. You need to know when to put down the sword and pick up the pen.”
- Even though you never had any real intention of living with a vigilante, now that you are: you want to learn how to fight. Jason’s resistant at first, he doesn’t want you drawn into the same life he was. Eventually you manage to convince him to give you basic weapons training, and to teach you the various fighting styles he learned in his travels. He even taught you about bombs and poisons as you got better at everything else.
- Jason tries to keep you from the rest of his family. The longer you two live together the more he sees you as his daughter. He doesn’t want Bruce to claim that he’s unstable and try to take you from him.
- He also tries to stop you from going on patrol with him, but that doesn’t work either. After the fifth time Jason finds you tailing him on patrol, he decides to help you make a costume and identity, and the two of you start patrolling together.
- Jason always makes sure that the two of you eat dinner together. It becomes a tradition, no matter what the two of you have going on: school, patrol, missions, even family drama - you and Jason eat dinner together.
- When Dick, Tim, and Damian finally find out about you, they start coming around the apartment more. At first, Jason is completely against it, but slowly the three brothers start coming over more, worming their way into your lives. They start coming over for movie nights, and they drop by for patrol.
- Soon Jason, or Dad whenever you two are in the apartment, introduces you to his “Favorite Sister”. Cass, who’s only back for a little while to catch up with family and track down a lead for one of her cases. She spends almost all of her time at the apartment, getting to know you and quickly becoming your favorite of Jason’s siblings.
- Aunt Cass starts teaching you sign language while she’s in Gotham, and Jason continues the education when she leaves (because of course he knows sign language, he speaks like 5 languages fluently, and knows bits-and-pieces of 12 others including a few alien languages). You and Cass keep in contact even when she goes back to China. The two of you video-chat at least once a week, and sometimes Jason joins in on the conversation, always proud of any progress you’ve made.
- You and Bruce don’t meet until you’ve been living with Jason for at least a year and a half. And when you do, the first thing Bruce does is try to take you from your Dad. It turns into a Civil War. All of Jason’s siblings fight Bruce, Cass flies back to Gotham, even Alfred goes against Bruce to get you back with Jason.
- Surprisingly, it’s Dick who freaks out the most the first time you bring a boy home. “You’re too young! You aren’t ready to date! Do you know what boys expect their girlfriends to do? Sex things!! They expect sex things! Jason, you can’t condone your daughter doing sex things!” “Uncle Dick, I’m 16. If I want to date I can, and plus I’m not going to have sex with him. Not until I’m ready” “I trust my daughter, Dick. I know she’ll do what’s best for herself, and I trust her to talk to me if anything happens. Right, peanut?” “Right, Dad!”
