possible prompt: Anne and Gil go shopping for Delly’s Christmas present

um I LOVE THIS...here’s some word vomit that I hardly read over so it is very unedited. I’m also picturing it as modern day shirbert. I love thinking about Gilbert as an uncle.....

“Gil,” Anne grabbed Gilbert’s wrist, stopping him before he walked through the mall doors. “Remember what we talked about.”

“One thing. That’s all we need to get.” Gilbert repeated obediently.

Anne smiled and nodded. “Right. She’s two years old. She’s not going to know the difference between one present and ten presents.”

“Of course. Trust me Carrots, I can handle it.”

Anne rolled her eyes, already anticipating what was about to happen. When it came to Uncle duties, Gilbert did nothing BUT go overboard.

They walked hand in hand through the mall but once they crossed the threshold of the baby store, Anne was long forgotten as Gilbert made a beeline for the toys section. 

She let him be for a while, grabbing the few essentials that Mary had asked her to get while they were there. Diapers, formula, baby wipes…. Once she checked everything off Mary’s list, Anne weaved her way through the aisles until she found the familiar mess of curly black hair.

“Gilbert...” She laughed disbelievingly.

He turned to her and gave her a sheepish smile. He had somehow acquired a shopping cart while she was gone and it seemed as though he had already managed to fill it halfway. 

“I know, I know, but I promise it’s not as bad as it looks.” 

“Isn’t it?”

“Okay, well, at first I was just going to pick out a doll for her, to go with the one that she already has that she loves so much.  But then I passed this karaoke set that I HAD to get her- you know how much she likes to sing- and look at all the songs, it has Twinkle, Twinkle and Mary had a Little Lamb and Ba Ba…. Anyway, then THAT made me think of the Christmas Concert that she has coming up at school and I thought that maybe she needed an outfit for that so I found this cute dress with the bow on it- I think the red will go nicely with her hair…. And then after that I thought of you, and how you’re always buying her the educational toys so I went and found this baby puzzle that has the alphabet on it… And THEN I remembered the doll I was originally was going to pick out so I had to go back for THAT and…..yeah now we’re here.” Gilbert rambled out his explanation. “Sorry Carrots, I know I tend to get carried away.”

Anne giggled and closed the distance between them. “Yeah, you do.” She agreed, stretching up on her tiptoes to kiss him softly. “But that’s why I love you.

Could you do a headcannon oh Huma having a child?

- The couple vows to never give their child the same childhood that they both had experienced.

- Harry is absolutely speechless when he first holds his child. To him, he has never thought that he could possibly care about someone as much as he did that wasn’t Uma or Gil, but he felt like he was holding his entire world.

- While Uma is a bit more logical and trusting, Harry freaks out about literally everything. (Which includes him taking their child to the hospital six or seven times for the silliest things like a paper cut, scratch on their knee, etc.)

- Uncle Gil. (AKA, ‘the fun uncle’.)

- Sword fighting lessons.

- Imagine their child getting Uma’s dark hair and skin complexion, along with Harry’s sky blue eyes.

- Uma teaching them how to swim while Harry excitedly cheers them on, a solid three feet away from the water.
