This lil fic was inspired by a weekend trip we had and the fact that I just love writing for Grace's brother as well as this lil chaos family. I hope you enjoy it.
Caroline was just over a year old when Grace got the idea for a family vacation. The twins were almost nine months and Hadley was four months so she knew everybody would be able to travel. She ran the idea through the wifeys group chat; they could go to the beach for a few days and then there was going to be some racing at Charlotte. While she'd just seen her brother for Caroline's birthday, it never felt like long enough. Plus she hadn't seen him race in ages, and while she knew his girls usually weren't at the track with him and she missed them terribly, she thought it would be a fun time.
She found some rooms in Carolina Beach that weren't too over the top price wise since it wasn't peak summer yet being they were going the first of May, and while she knew all her pilots would complain about flying commercial, they'd just have to get over it. No way were they driving across the country with four kids. She found flights into Wilmington and secured rental cars as well. She also went ahead and booked the flights to Charlotte and got tickets to the dragstrip event. They were only going to be a few miles from her hometown, so she thought it'd be nice to show everybody where she came from. She was so excited for this trip, and she was very excited to surprise her brother.
The beach was a blast with the babies. Caroline loved the water, the sand not so much. Marcus and Nathaniel loved the sand, and even tried eating it much to Alana's dismay. Hadley was still too little to really enjoy it, but she loved laying on any one of her favorite adults and watching the kids. Jake, Bradley, and Mickey had a blast taking Caroline and the boys into the ocean while the girls suntanned and rested. It was so relaxing to just be away and enjoy the time together.
They spent four days in total there, with plans to come back or explore one of the other Carolina beaches for a longer trip. The fifth day they flew into Charlotte, and drove down to Grace's hometown. It was a small town on the outskirts of Charlotte, but it was close to the dragstrip and speedway. She showed them around, showing them her grandparents' house where she grew up even though they'd sold it. They even swing by the cemetery so Grace can leave some flowers and introduce Bradley and Caroline to her grandparents. In all, they only spend a couple hours in the town before heading north into Concord to their room for the weekend.
Friday they explore Concord, and everybody grabs some more souvenirs and mementos to remember their trip by. They don't stay out too long during the day because of the race that night. They want to give the kids enough time to rest and nap before a late night. Grace ends up napping with Caroline because she knows these events can go late into the night, especially if Kevin is winning.
They get to the dragstrip a couple of hours before the actual racing starts so they have time to walk through the pits and explore all the cars. She's hoping it will give her plenty of time to see Kevin too. She doesn't know for certain he'll be there as they hadn't talked about it last time they talked, but Grace is almost positive he will show up to race. She knows Charlotte's dragstrip will always be one of his favorite places to race since that's where he started.
The later it gets, the more nervous she gets that she drug everybody here for nothing. It was getting close to the end of tech and test and tune and her brother still wasn't there, despite her having seen a few of his Florida friends when they walked around. She left Caroline with Bradley and promised everybody she'd be right back; she had to see if they knew if he was coming or not. She just hoped they would remember her since she'd only met them a couple of times.
They were working on their cars, a crowd of people surrounding them. She knew their YouTube channels really brought in the crowds. She edged over to the side and called out to the one closest to her. "James!"
His head jerked up and looked in her direction. She gave a little wave and pointed at the shirt she had on which was one of Kevin's. "Grace?"
"Yea," she smiles when he recognized her. He let her under the rope and over into their circle. "What are you doing here?"
"Came to surprise Kev. I've got my husband and daughter with me and some friends and their kids. We'd been at the beach and I figured he'd be here when I heard about the race so we thought we'd surprise him. Except.... he's not here yet."
James looks around because Kevin had told them about the event. "Hey Ty! Yall heard from Kev?"
That gained everybody else's attention and they all noticed her. She was swarmed with hugs and welcoming greetings. "He called a few hours ago said he was still a couple out. Should be here soon."
"Thanks guys. I'll keep an eye out."
"Wait wait wait I think that's him," James smiled turning you towards where Kevin's truck was pulling in.
"Let me go get my girl."
"Bring her back here. We'll film it. His face is gonna be priceless."
"Thanks guys," she smiles. After collecting Bradley and Caroline, everybody else is gonna trail after once the video surprise is over, she returns to their tent. They had their cameras and go pros ready for different angles. Bradley tucked behind the tallest guy, which surprisingly had a couple of inches on him, while Grace carried Caroline behind James.
Kevin was unloading the car, so it ended up being the perfect setup. "Kev we have a surprise for you!" James called out once the car was beside the trailer.
"Oh yea? What now?" He chuckled as he slid out of the window. He noticed them all filming and his eyes narrowed in suspicion.
"Surprise!" Grace squealed stepping out from behind James. Caroline was giggling and clapping even though she really didn't know why until she saw her uncle. Kevin's face was priceless and he easily took Caroline and pulled Grace into his arms for a hug.
"What are you doing here?" He asks her as they pull back from the hug.
"Figured you'd be here. Wanted to surprise you. We took a mini family vacation out to the coast and then came back this way to watch you race."
"Well you got me but....." he knocked on the side of the trailer and the side door opened revealing his three girls. "Surprise back!"
"Auntie Grace!" Grace had an armful of two girls while Sam jumped straight into Bradley's arms.
"You've got the girls?!"
"Sure do. My week so we're gonna have some fun at the track."
"Well this is a nice surprise," Grace smiles as Cara reaches for Caroline. She had a feeling there was some drama there, but she'd get it out of him later.
Everybody with cameras peeled off promising to send the footage over. Kevin gave Caroline to Cara but stayed close. Her baby ear muffs made her look adorable, coupled with her baby Kevin racing shirt and Kevin loved it. The rest of the gang joined yall by Kevin's car, which the boys absolutely admired. Kevin easily took Hadley who smiled at him and gurgled happily, as he walked around the car with Bradley, Jake and Mickey. Jake was pushing the twins in a stroller and they just wide-eyed looked at the car.
The girls talked a mile a minute to their aunt, Baylie and Alana, since they hadn't seen her since Christmas, their mom not letting them come with Kev for Caroline's party. "We actually have one more surprise," Grace smiles catching Kevin's attention once they're done inspecting the car. They'd not told him at Caroline's party wanting to wait until they knew what they were having to tell him since he couldn't be at their gender reveal.
That catches Kevin's attention. Mickey takes Hadley back as Baylie and Alana covertly grab their phones to film and take pictures. Kev easily takes Caroline from Cara when she reaches for him once more as he gives his sister his full attention. "And?" He asks when she drags out the silence to drive him crazy.
She turns sideways and tugs her shirt a little tighter around her. "Read Caroline's shirt." On the back of her shirt it says "Uncle Kev’s fav until my little brother arrives."
His eyes snap back to hers and then to her belly. "Seriously?!"
"Yea. It was a surprise to us too," she laughs. Kevin pulls her in for another hug as they explain to the girls their getting another cousin. The girls are all excited, but Kevin finally breaks them up. "As much fun as this has been, I've gotta go make a pass before the tune session is over."
"Be careful," Grace says as Bradley takes Caroline and the girls go with them back to their seats. Kev's first pass isn't the greatest; the track prep wasn't the best and he spun as soon as he took off.
"Ouch," Sam sighed seeing her dad's time. At eight she understood more about racing than most adults. The perks of being her daddy's little mini me.
"Daddy won't like that," Ava sighed after Sam explained it to her.
Grace couldn't help but giggle. "No he probably won't sweetheart, but it'll be ok."
"Uncle Bradley can we go back to Daddy?"
Bradley hides his smile at Sam's request and nods. "Yep come on racing princess. Let's go see what he's going to do to fix it."
Grace slipped Caroline into her carrier and they headed back to the pits. Racing would start in the next fifteen minutes, so they decided to let the twins run off some energy by Kev's trailer while he worked on his tune. Hadley had already snuggled into Mickey's chest in her carrier and fallen asleep. Ava ran around with the twins, making sure they didn't fall or get hurt; Cara stayed glued to her aunt's side, while Sam watched over Kevin's shoulder everything he was doing.
Once the racing actually began, they went back to their seats. Sam wasn't happy about not going to the staging lanes with Kev, but she ended up with Bradley's attention so she was happy. Grace smiled just watching them. It had already been the best night, no matter what happened with Kev's racing. She managed to ask someone near them to snap a picture of all of them.
After Kevin barely wins the first one, the girls walk back over to the pits, leaving the boys to watch some more racing. The twins are fussy, so Alana pushes them around getting them to sleep while the girls congratulate their dad. He takes Caroline once more, while he works on the tune a little more. Grace can't help but snap a pic of the cute scene. Caroline is almost asleep, her little head laying on Kev's shoulder as he just works away.
All four of the babies end up falling asleep before Kev's next pass. Mickey and Bradley take Hadley and Caroline in their carriers so Baylie and Grace can have a break. The twins are sound asleep, laid back in their stroller. They decide to stand on the fence to watch the next few passes, and once again Kev gets the victory, putting him into the final. There wasn't as many cars there that night, so they had shorter rounds. Kev easily sails to victory in his class, and the girls are so happy for their dad. Since the babies are asleep, they decide to stay for the winner's circle so Grace can grab some pics for Kev and with his girls.
They make plans to meet up with Kev and the girls in the morning for breakfast and to spend the day together. They have a late flight that night, in the hopes the kids will sleep through it, so they have all day to spend. Since Kev won Friday night, he decided to skip the Saturday passes and spend the day with his family. Overall, it was one of the best vacations any of them had been on in a really long time, and they were all looking forward to the next one, maybe even to Florida that time.
Emily Thompson joined the Hard Deck staff after Grace had the miscarriage. She filled in in the kitchen, was great behind the bar, and literally everyone loved her. She was from south Florida, and she’d escaped to California to get away from her family. There wasn’t any major reason for escaping, they could just be overbearing and seemed to think they knew best when it came to her love life, but she heavily disagreed with them. Grace had taken a month off after her confessions to everyone, and they’d take some time to vacation in Florida. When she returned, she hit it off with Emily quite easily. She invited her around with the squad quite frequently, and folded her into their ranks almost seamlessly.
It was because of their close friendship, that Grace was able to notice Emily making eyes at Kevin when he was out for vacation with the girls six months later. He’d been down on the beach, playing with Bradley and the kids, and Emily was watching through the window. “He’s single you know,” Grace says, bumping shoulders with her.
Emily blushed bright red almost instantly. “Umm no. I’m pretty sure that ring on your finger means he is not,” Emily comes back with.
Grace busts out laughing, unable to help it. “Honey, I know my man looks fine as fuck in dad mode, but I was talking about my older brother. Who you can’t take your eyes off of.”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about.”
“Uh huh… sure.” Grace turns back to watching, Emily not leaving her side. “You know he’s been single for a while. He got divorced when Cara was five, Sam three, and Ava was just six months. I never liked my sister-in-law and she didn’t like me. He’s better off without her, but he plays nice because of the girls. He has them every other week.”
“Why are you telling me this?” Emily laughs.
Grace rolls her eyes at her; “Because you’re making eyes at my brother in dad mode. Should know what you’re getting into.”
“I’m not getting into anything. We live on complete opposite sides of the country,” she laughs.
“Just think about it. He’s quite the catch. Single dad, successful business owner, and loves to race.” Grace turns back to the bar getting juices for the kids and waters. “Come on, you can help me deliver these,” she smirks.
Emily rolls her eyes, but takes some of the drinks and follows Grace down the beach. “Break time,” Grace calls out to get their attention. The kids come running, Bradley and Kevin trailing behind.
“Alright Emily this is Cara, Sam and Ava. Cara is thirteen, Sam is eleven and Ava is eight. You know these two,” she laughs as Mitchell holds his arms up to be picked up. Grace picks him up instantly and passes him his sippy cup of juice. “And this is my big brother Kevin. Kev this is Emily. She works here and is a good friend,” Grace smiles. The girls settle on towels, Grace stepping into Bradley’s side with Mitchell on her hip as she observes.
“What are you doing?” Bradley whispers.
“Not a thing honey,” she smirks.
“Liar,” he whispers. Grace gives him her most innocent face, causing him to scoff and down some water. She watches Kevin talk to Emily and she can see something is there. She might just have to give them both a nudge. As per usual, she’s sad to see her brother and nieces go at the end of the week, but she gets permission to pass his number on to Emily, and that makes her happy. She waits a few days and then she passes the number to Emily with a wink.
She lets Kevin know that she passed it along, but she can sense his hesitancy. She knows it’s been hard to find someone that is genuinely interested in him and not just after his money from the business. “Kev just give it a try. You never know. Emily is genuine. You know I wouldn’t do that to you.”
“I know. But you know finding someone to fit into this life isn’t easy.”
“Just give it a try,” Grace pleads.
Kevin does text with Emily some, and they talk on the phone occasionally, but the different coasts and different time zones really makes it hard. It isn’t until Kevin has a racing accident do they really make any headway. Six months after they met, Grace flies out to Colorado where Kevin had been racing. He’d been hit by another racer who’d lost control on the drag strip and t-boned him on the driver’s side. He’d broken his collarbone, had bruised ribs and multiple bruises on his legs. Grace insisted he come back to Cali with her to recover, knowing with the broken collarbone, he’d need the extra help.
He relented, knowing the accident had shaken his sister up some, so he wanted to reassure her. Caroline and Mitchell were happy to have Uncle Kev around. They both adored him to no end, and loved spending time with him. Kev worked it out with his ex-wife for the girls to fly out in two weeks and stay for two weeks with him. Grace was not the least bit surprised when Emily showed up at their house the day after she returned with Kev.
“He’s in the guest room,” Grace smiles pointing at the door.
“Thanks,” Emily says, her voice a little shaky. Grace knows how she feels. She had been terrified when she got the call from the hospital, but once she laid eyes on him, she knew he would be ok.
Emily and Kev seem to really hit it off during that month; Emily spending a lot of time at the Bradshaw house during that time. Bradley flew out and got the girls for Kev and flew back with them. Emily got to know the girls during that time as well, and the girls really seemed to like her. Once everyone went back home, Grace noticed how happy Emily and Kevin both seemed. “You two are a good match,” she tells Kev one night.
“You just wanted me to tell you that you’re an excellent matchmaker.”
“Maybe,” she laughs. “Or maybe I just want you to admit that I was right and it was ok to take a chance on love again.”
“Your husband’s ego is rubbing off on you,” Kev laughs.
“Oh hush and just tell me I’m right.”
Kevin ends up in Cali more than normal after he and Emily became official, and she goes to Florida a lot too. They seem to really be making it work despite the opposite coasts, and Grace is immensely happy for them. No one is surprised when Kevin and Emily are named godparents for the twins. Emily has been spending more time in Florida, and Grace wouldn’t be surprised if she didn’t permanently move out there.
The twins are just over a year old, when Grace convinces Bradley to go to Florida for two weeks. She wants to take the kids to see Kevin race and she wants to take them to Disney World. As soon as Bradley agrees, she calls Kev to get the racing schedule and to convince him to do Disney with them and take the girls. Kevin agrees to ask the girls, but Grace knows they’ll readily agree. What Kev forgets to mention is that Emily will also be there.
Bradley and Grace rent a SUV for the week, promising Kev that they don’t need him to pick them up. They have a hotel room in Orlando for the first two nights, and Kevin and Emily meet them there. “Well now I know why Penny said I should have a good week,” Grace teases. Kevin helps Bradley get carts for their luggage, while Emily helps Grace with the twins and their carriers. Caroline and Mitchell are talking Kevin’s ear off as they get into the elevator.
“Well he needed a co-pilot this week,” Emily shrugs. “I also maybe wanted to…”
“Move out here?” Grace asks. “I’m gonna hate losing you, but I think this is where you belong.”
“Yea I’m thinking so too.” Emily looks really happy and so does Kevin and that’s all Grace could want. They get settled that night, and promise to meet them at the track tomorrow. Mitchell is the most excited to be watching Uncle Kevin race. At six, he’s already decided he’d much rather race than fly, breaking all of the squad’s hearts. But as Lucky reminded them, the boy still picked an adrenaline fueled, dangerous option, so they can’t be too upset.
The body carriers come in handy for the twins, Bradley wearing one and Grace wearing the other. They have little baby ear muffs for the twins, and even have pairs for Caroline and Mitchell. Caroline wears her, but Mitchell insists he’s fine. They get to the track early, and meet up with Kev in the parking lot. They get to walk around and see all the cars, and Mitchell is in total heaven. They line up along the fence to watch Kev race, and unfortunately it’s not the pass he wanted. He does another hit, and while it was better, something still isn’t right.
They head back to the parking lot after watching a few more races. The twins are fussy and Caroline is hungry, so despite Mitchell’s desire to watch more, they head back. Kevin is heading to the next track, and the Bradshaw’s head back to the hotel. Tomorrow, they’re headed a couple of hours north to stay at Kevin’s house for a few days and to watch him race on his home track. They will miss day two and day three of racing, but Emily promises to send them plenty of videos.
They make it to Kevin’s just fine, and Grace is only slightly surprised when Cara shows up after school. At sixteen, she’s driving and she knows her parents have let her have a little more freedom on where she stays, but Grace also knows that it’s not Kevin’s week because of the race. “Hey sweetheart. What are you doing here?” She’s on the back deck watching the kids in the pool with Bradley while the twins are asleep.
“Knew yall would be here. Besides I’ve been staying here more.”
“Oh? Everything ok?
“Mmm yea. You know how mom can be though.”
Grace sighs. She was hoping her ex-sister-in-law had stopped trying to turn the girls against their dad, but she guessed some things would never change. “She wouldn’t let me bring Sam or Ava today though.”
“It’s ok. We’ll see them next week.”
“Sam wants to stay here full time. And I do too, but I… Don’t want to leave Ava.”
“Cara what’s really going on?”
“Mom hates Emily. Hates that we like her. And you know Sam’s always favored dad.” Grace chuckles softly because that’s true; Sam has always been Daddy’s little shadow. “Dad’s more of a parent anyways. And Emily would be good… as a mom.”
Grace pulls Cara into her arms hugging her tight. “I’ll talk to your dad ok? I don’t know that it’ll work out, but all three of you are old enough to decide where you want to live. And you know your dad would do anything for you three.”
“I know. Thanks Auntie Grace.” Grace doesn’t talk to Kev that night just because she doesn’t want to distract him from the race, plus he'd had to stop by the shop to change out his transmission before making it to the next track - Mitchell totally loving that Uncle Kev let him come watch thet happen. But if the girls want to live with him, Grace will help him fight that battle.
The next night, Kev checks in with them before going to the shop where a lot of the racers are congregating to work on their cars and just hang out. He’d had a good day at the track and was excited that the transmission swap had worked. Emily stayed at the house with them, helping with the kids and night time routines. The next day, they were all up early, heading to the track. Mitchell was ecstatic because they put his booster seat in the car with Kev since the track wasn’t far.
Bradley got him out once Kev was parking in the parking lot, and then Kev and Emily worked on switching the car over. It didn’t take them long, having become a well oiled machine throughout the week. Kevin’s class was up first, so they lined up along the fence, Bradley wearing Abigail with Mitchell sitting on his shoulders. Grace had Kayce in the carrier, and Caroline was standing between them. Kevin’s pass went really well and he was super pumped with how well the car was performing now.
They watched a few more passes, Mitchell over the moon with excitement. They were heading back to Orlando with Kevin, so once he had the car switched back over and packed up, they loaded up and hit the road. The twins slept, and Mitchell talked their head off about the racing. Once in Orlando, they settled into the room. Kevin has one more day of racing and then everybody will be in vacation mode.
The next day, Kev makes his fastest passes of the week. Mitchell is totally enamored, and Grace is not the least bit surprised when Kev spins Emily around whooping and hollering in the parking lot after. She’d had a wonderful conversation with Kev the night before so she makes sure to have her camera ready when Kev drops to one knee right there in front of everybody. Emily has tears running down her cheek, and it’s a totally beautiful moment.
Cara drives her sisters down that night, and they celebrate with their dad. The next day, they all move over to two rooms at a Disney resort and settle in for a week of fun. Caroline and Mitchell absolutely love meeting the characters and riding the rides. The twins are too young to fully enjoy it, but it’s ok. Cara, Sam and Ava are all really great about riding rides with Caroline and Mitchell and helping keep up with them. Bradley and Grace keep the girls one night for Kev and Emily to have a night out to celebrate their engagement. By the end of the week, they’re all worn out but in the best way. It was a truly great vacation. Grace was even able to talk to Kev about what Cara had shared with her, and he promised to talk to the girls once they were home and make a game plan. They were all sad to part ways, but they had a wedding to look forward to.
Two years later, Kevin and Emily said “I do.” Cara, Sam and Ava had been living with their dad fully for the last year, and they were Emily’s bridesmaids. Kev’s friends were his groomsmen, and Caroline and Abigail were flower girls with Mitchell and Kayce being the ring bearers. It was a beautiful wedding on the beach in Florida, and Emily and Kev surprised his sister at the reception when Emily turned down a drink because she was expecting. Grace was over the moon, even if Kev was a little apprehensive at his age and becoming a dad again. The girls were all in on the secret and they were happy for their dad. This was the happiest they’d ever seen him in their lives, and they couldn’t be mad about that. They were also hoping for a little brother, since there was already three sisters.
Nine months later Grace and Bradley and the kids flew to Florida to meet Chase Alexander, who was the perfect mixture of his parents and had everybody wrapped around his little fingers, especially his sisters. Grace was happy to see Kevin so happy and in love and she was forever grateful Emily came into their lives.
Kevin ends up on dad and babysitting duty to help his creators block. Short lil blurb the wifeys helped inspire!

Kevin was still scratching his head on how he ended up with nine kids at once. Grace had called two weeks ago saying that there was a Navy event they had to attend at Pensacola, but none of them knew what they were going to do with the kids. Despite Pensacola being a little over five hours from him, they worked out a plan for Kevin to babysit for everybody since he'd have his girls at the same time to help out.
He'd met them at the airport, leaving his girls at his house. Grace rented a van just to help get the kids to his house; Kev took three of them and Grace took the three others. Bradley, Jake, Alana, Baylie and Mickey were just going to wait at the airport for their next flight. Luckily Kev didn't live far and they were able to get everybody inside with his girls before Grace had to head right back. It was utter chaos for the fifteen minutes Grace helped him get everything in and left, but thankfully there weren't any tears.
He'd asked them when they planned this, if it would be fine if the kids ended up on some of his videos because he still needed to do some work while keeping them; plus he'd been having creators block lately, and he was almost positive the kids would help. The three couples had all agreed, but also thought he was hilarious that he thought he'd get anything done with all the kids around. Of course Mitchell and Sam were all for helping Kev in the shop. Hadley loved taking in the huge space and all the new things she could discover, the twins following along with her when Marcus wasn't trying to help Kevin too. Caroline was content to sit back and watch for the moment, Ava bringing a book over to read to her. Olivia had curled up in Caroline's lap just watching the chaos unfold around her. Cara, bless her, was trying to help Kev wrangle all the kids to keep them from getting hurt.
The video was going to be highly entertaining; Kev trying to explain things he was doing, with his two little helpers, while in the background it was pure chaos and every few minutes, Kev was taking tools and directing the four year olds in other directions. Sam was helping Mitchell twist a bolt on the car, giggling when she noticed he had some grease on his forehead. "Me do it Sam!"
"You did buddy," she smiles. She helps him down to go try and clean his face off while Kev is off, collecting tools from Hadley and the twins.
"But Uncle Kev! I could use that," Hadley pouted as he took the wrench she almost took Nathaniel out with.
"I'm sure you could Hads. But not for hitting the twins," he laughed as he scooped her up. He blew a raspberry on her cheek to make her giggle as Cara steered the twins away from the motorcycle in the corner.
They'd been at it an hour, when Kev decided to throw in the white flag. His video ended up more of the kids and all their shenanigans instead of actually working on his car. "Who wants to go to the park?!"
The four year olds are excited for it, but Mitchell pouts and tears up because he'd been having fun in the shop. "We'll take some cars to the park I promise."
"Dad can we have a snack?!"
Kevin can't help but chuckle as they get all the kids back in the house. "Yes Ava get enough to share."
"Are you sure about this dad?" Cara asks.
"Not one bit kiddo," he laughs. He heads to the kitchen and helps Ava get snacks out for everybody. While the kids are eating, he packs several bags with towels, sunscreen, and toys. He packs a cooler as well with plenty of drinks and snacks. Luckily the park is within walking distance of his house. Once he has all the bags and backpacks packed, he puts Mitchell and Olivia in a double stroller. Hadley is content with a piggy back ride, and each of his girls takes one of the other three's hands.
The kids run wild and have a blast at the park. Kevin sets up under a tree to keep watch and orders pizza for lunch. The kids devour the pizza when he finally wrangles them onto the towels and settles down. Liv curls up in his lap after eating and promptly falls asleep. Mitchell is wearing down as well trying to keep up with the older kids, but he won't give it up. Kevin manages to get him to lay down beside him and he turns on a video on his phone for him. Mitchell ends up passing out as well. He lets the older four run around some more with his girls before he calls them back over to go back to the house.
He knows the four year olds will protest a nap, but they have played hard all morning and with the time differences, he thinks some rest will do them some good. They get back to the house, Cara helping him get the sleeping two year olds down on the bed. Back in the living room, they build a fort with pillows and blankets from all over the house. He turns on a movie and the twins end up following him to the kitchen. He lets them help him decide on what to feed them for supper.
Dinner goes smoothly, Marcus and Nathaniel having decided on grilled cheeses. Cara cuts up some fruit for them to go with it, and he promises cookies for dessert if they eat some of the fruit. Grace texts as they're just finishing their cookies that the event has finished and they'll be flying out within the hour. He promises her that they are fine, as he gets all the kids back into the living room. He turns on Disney and everybody collapses inside the fort.
He snaps some pictures and sends them to Grace to share. Hadley is laying on Caroline's left, Mitchell and Liv curled up on either side of Ava. The twins are separated by Sam and all of them are laying with their heads on Cara who is laying at the top of the pile. While they are watching Disney, falling asleep, he works on editing the video from earlier. It's one of his most chaotic videos ever, but he can't help but love it.
He heads to the back porch to film an intro for it, and he'll show it to everybody once they get there before he posts it. "Hello everybody! Welcome back to the channel. Today's video is not the usual content. It was going to be, but I helped my sister and her friends out today and ended up with a whole bunch of kids, including my own," he chuckles. "I'll admit, I've had a lot of creator's block on some of the projects at the shop and it's made it hard to make quality videos for you to enjoy. And while keeping up with nine kids ranging from thirteen to two is exhausting, today has been fun. The video is adorable and chaotic. I'm calling it Uncle Kev's Daycare!" He laughs as he ends the little clip.
When he gets back inside, he's not surprised at all to find all the kids asleep. He turns the tv down, and throws some blankets over them in their forts. He pulls footage from the day all together and gets it ready to show his sister and the gang. He greets them at the door two hours later. Everybody is exhausted so he quickly shows them to the guest room and the girls room they were going to use for the night. They all decided to just leave the kids as they are. The next morning over breakfast, he shows them all the video. It is one of the funniest videos ever and they're all more than happy to have him post it.
It ends up one of his most liked videos and gains him almost a thousand more subscribers. It's safe to say the next time he has creator's block he'll just offer to babysit again.
Inspired by mini get away last weekend. I'm excited for this fic 😍
She just hoped that some of Kevin's friends that were there would remember her.
I figured he'd be here when I heard about the race so we thought we'd surprise him. Except.... he's not here yet."
James looks around because Kevin had told them about the event. "Hey Ty! Yall heard from Kev?"
It was my very good friends' birthday yesterday! As soon as I met him, it felt as if we had been friends our whole lives. I hardly ever feel that way about anyone when I first meet them. We've helped each other through some pretty rough fucking times, even though we haven't been friends for very long. I love that he has my back whenever I need him, no matter what. He's one of the most genuine people I know. 😘❤
(I went on a bit of a playdate with daddy's friend Uncle Kev, he was sweet and crazy and brought all these sweets that I really liked, although daddy will probably tell me to not have so many sweets, whoops.
Anyway, I was Uncle Kev's family house, where I also got to meet up with all of his cousins [who are girls]. They all told me I was cute! I was very embarrassed and tried running away, but I got caught up in measuring tape and they said I was even cuter! ><
I know I'm small and I look cute when I stumble into things, but I would also like help with getting the measuring tape off me!)
