Related to @unclefather it was pretty obvious after about a year of following her that she was faking her financial issues and probably using donations from actually struggling people to save money to buy a house (that’s the last thing I remember her talking about before deactivating), and leveraging actual trans hurt to make a fanbase who would viciously attack anyone who tried to critique her scammerly ways.
And those vapid posts that exposed how terrible of a person she is (“pretty people like me don’t deserve to be poor”)? I can still see people trying to rationalize being scammed by her by saying shit like “well maybe some good came out of it”. Not saying that it’s possible to always spot scam but unclefather was pretty obvious. I hope these people try to more carefully vet people and posts so that money goes to those who really need it.
I have to admit, I did donate once to her when she made some post about getting Christmas presents for her children, but only through the Amazon wishlist to make sure I sent a toy, not money, cause I was genuinely mad she was using her children’s childhoods as some kind of ransom. Utter trash person but she made funny posts which is why I never said anything out loud.
