I mean I wouldn't say Wen Ning cares about image. He does try to hide his neck to not scare anyone with the black veins if you will but really other than that he doesn't care. If something personal got leaked ? Well one he would be confused as to how someone got his information just in general because he doesn't have a phone, nor know how to post anything and the likes so in terms of this world he would be confused as to how they found. . .anything on him. But assuming it was the fact he's still alive and essentially a zombie. . .might hide for a bit, might just keep his hood on and only appear at night. Depends on how people view it, if he even realizes anything got leaked. Did that make sense ?

His eyes were screwed shut for the moment, one hand over his mouth trying to keep what was already in his throat in there; immediately retching when something was in his hands. 

He didn’t know what it was, but he trusted her. Hell, he trusted any of the Raisins girls with his life.  ..Just not his death.

What had caused this? He was drinking wine, sure, but it wasn’t enough to get him this disoriented or sick. Perhaps the blood had turned from what he could handle? 

Michael could handle pretty far gone, though.. 

Once he was done retching hard enough that his stomach hurt; he panted for a moment, realizing just what exactly he’d been given. 

Slowly, he pushed himself to standing by using the counter; limping over to the sink as he cleared his throat. “S..sorry..”

He got to cleaning the thing out immediately, having to lean his forearms on the side of the sink for support. “I-” After pitching over and letting out an unproductive retch into the sink, he shook his head. 

“Ugh.. Apologies.. I’ll clean this out and.. if you still don’t want to.. to use it I’ll buy you another.. Alright?”

Only somewhat glancing over his shoulder, he continued cleaning.

REANIMATE — ☠

I could feel the rhythm before I heard it. I just knew it- at first, I thought it was Octavo again. But the young bard was nowhere to be seen, he wasn’t here… which began to quickly fill me with a sense of dread. I’d already seen some monsters that were just a bit too familiar to my own world… which could mean only one thing.

Octavian.

I ran towards the source of the music, sword in hand. I didn’t know how he could be back after mom and grandma had dealt with him and that lute, but it didn’t matter. It was my turn now, and I’d put him back into the grave he’d come from.

I’d learned since my time in the crypts, but more than anything, I’d learned not to hesitate. Each missed beat had been like a dagger to my heart, almost literally- hesitation got you killed in the crypt. Which meant doing things over and over and over again. And this time, I really wasn’t in the mood for that.

I could hear him laughing, but I couldn’t see him. Ever since I’d made my way up to this place, it’d been nightmarish- until I’d stepped into a graveyard. It’d felt… familiar. Too familiar. And unfortunately, I only finally recognized it just a few moments too late- I could feel something grabbing onto my leg from below and pulling, the dirt caving in around me as I fell down, down, down into the crypts.

Shit, I found myself thinking, not again.

There was a blank spot in my memory from when I landed, but I knew what’d happened this time. I knew how I’d ‘survived’- I hadn’t. Again. But this time, I was prepared already. I wasn’t going to be played- it didn’t matter how many tries it took, I’d get myself out of this again.

Of course, I could already tell it wouldn’t be easy. It felt like there was somehow more monsters than there’d been last time, and the crypt wasn’t like I remembered… it felt like it kept changing- probably as a result of whatever was going on with this floating chunk of land. The entire place felt unstable, unsteady- not good.

I found myself just hoping that this entire crypy wouldn’t just disappear while I was still in it- I did not want to get myself stuck six feet under like that. That sounded way worse than the head injury I’d just sustained, so… no thanks on that front.

Hopefully, I wouldn’t end up dying too many times. If things were the same, I knew how the crypts liked to orient themselves, and I knew their tricks. Or at the very least, I knew the traps to avoid- pits, knives, all sorts of things that’d kill me in an instant. And had killed me, before I’d gotten used to this place the first time.

More than anything, though… I hoped nobody else would end up following me in here. It was bad enough being stuck down here again, but I could handle it. Other people, though? That was a different story entirely…

But enough of that. It was time to dive forward once again, into the crypt of the necrodancer.

Nothing to do with What-if- wendsday, but I always wanted to know, How did Stahldrauf became a deathknight?

Injury, blood, undead under the cut

“Denny,c’mon, get up.” The Worgen’s ears pinned back as he pulled Denistin tohis feet.  The human rogue was one of thefew residents of Pyrewood Village to not be converted into a human by Arugal.“C’mon, they’re coming, and I ain’t leaving you behind!” The small group ofrefugees had escaped from the Keep; they had set up a small camp, only to beambushed by the Scourge less than a handful of days later.

“Stahl… Ican’t. You’ll have to go on without me.” The smaller human looked up; he was pantingraggedly. The panicked flight had been hard on them all, but most of all onthose who hadn’t been changed. They were hungry, they were tired, and theydidn’t have the bestial stamina.

Purple eyesflicked up as he heard brushes snap. They were getting close… and closer… “Get up, now!” Bodilyhauling the rogue up, the Worgen half-carried, half-stumbled with him, pushinghim back into action. “We didn’t fight ta get out of there just to die here.”

Forcinghimself into movement, Denistin finally began moving. Stahldrauf stayed behindhim, reaching out to catch him as he fell, always ensuring they were on themove.  But it wasn’t enough; the undeadbehind them were relentless. The pair crossed into a clearing.  Open, with visibility on all sides, it seemedlike a safe place to rest. “Just a moment,” Denny exhaled, sweat dripping fromhis body as he slumped to the ground.

During therest, Stahl was on alert. His pure black fur helped him hide in the shadows,but Denistin had no such advantage. Intensely, his gaze swept back and forth, waiting for the first soundcoming from their pursuers.

Neither ofthem saw the ambush coming.

Frombehind, a pair of scourge knights emerged. These were more intelligent; eachstep was with purpose. It wasn’t until the sound of steel sliding fromscabbards filled the air that they were seen. With a snarl, the Worgen throwhimself at them; claws splayed, he attempted to buy Denistin some time, hisfriend struggling to his feet. Even the Worgen’s stamina was limited, however; whilethrowing the swing from one of the scourge knights wide, the other had a freeopening.

The painedwhimper that filled the air was keenly audible as the sword ran him through,the weapon going clean through.  In aburst of agony-inspired rage, the Worgen’s claws made quick work of the soldierstill with a weapon.  The other?  

Realizingthat the wound was not one he was walking away with, his hand would grasp theweapon.  Pulling it free with ablood-curdling roar, the second soldier was dealt with before he collapsed,hugging his side. “Denny… get out of here. I’ll buy you time.”

“Stahl…buddy… C’mon, don’t talk like that. You got us out of there, we’ll get y—“

“Does it looklike I’m walkin’ out of this one? Get out of here. Don’t die with me; yer goingto need to give them pay back.”  Forcinghimself to a stand, one hand shakily grasped the sword as he limped forward,towards their pursuers. “You’ll get your time.”

The timepurchased sealed Stahl’s fate while Denistin escaped.  It would be some time later before those eyesopened again, their violet hue replaced by the blazing blue of a Death Knight.

The trail led seemingly in circles at times. Like whoever had brought the letter had made sure to make the path as difficult an un-negotiable as possible. But still it led, over land and crag and cliff. All to arrive at a small little cave, holed up in the side of Tanaan. At least, that was where it was strongest, the scent of the orc's blood mixed in with the salty sea air that was nearby. And there it was. What Stahldrauf had been looking for. Something-- some-one- chained to a wall--

-- and athis feet was a good dozen, dozen feathers. All individually plucked from theirowner, serving as a bed for the orc that was lain atop it, dead. And thenanother letter, on the orc's body. This one not even sealed. "Figured I'dgive you a hand. After all, this idiot's lost his."

The Worgenfollowed the trail doggedly. The benefit of being a death knight was thatfatigue could have no hold on him- if he wanted, so long as he embraced hisnature. Even now, Fendell’s gentle admonishment of his condition echoed in hishead. There was no time to slow up, though—he instead kept galloping, largefurrows being left on the ground from each time he pushed forward.

By the timethe Worgen began to creep up the cliff face, the effects had already begun totake their toll. His white facial markings had grown more pronounced, givinghis muzzle a vaguely skeletal marking. His fur, previously a dark, suppleblack, had grown dryer and less fluffy. And, as he pulled himself over theedge, both icy blue eyes blazed with a barely continued fury.

What he sawdidn’t help that. It was an orc—one of the ones from Azeroth, caught up in thissenseless… well. Trap. Hoisting himself up, Stahl’s attention was seizedby another detail—those feathers underneath the inert body. Now atop of theledge, one hand reached back, seizing his runeblade and pulling the massiveexpanse of metal free from it’s sheathe. Advancing cautiously, he sniffed the air as he came closer. Oneadditional scan of the perimeter was given before he reached down, grabbing theenvelope and pulling the sheet of paper out within.

Thecontents elicited a deep, scornful growl from him. “Oh, fuck you, mate.”Looking down at the body, it wasn’t hard to piece the two together. The beingbehind this was trying to goad him into raising a ghoul. “If you thin’ I’mdesecratin’ someone jus’ fer extra help, yer goddamn wrong.” The attemptedmanipulation only made him more determined to find the one responsible forthis. Sliding his runeblade back in it’s sheathe, the Worgen turned hisattention back to the body at his feet.

“And as feryou…. I don’t have enough time fer a proper burial.”  Kneeling down, he’d lift the orc upcarefully, wanting to free the pile of feathers beneath. “Once I get ‘im out…I’ll make sure ya get proper last rites. An’ yer kin will know, if’n I can find‘em. …I’m sorry.” Placing the orc a short distance away, he’d step over him,seizing a handful of feathers. Bringing them up to his snout, he’d sniff it afew times, trying to get Rekkis’ scent from them—he hoped.  Glancing at the cave mouth, he steppedtowards it; near the mouth of it, his eyes narrowed as he studied it.  Stahl’s own blade would be a liability morethan anything in there. Regardless, he’d lower the feathers before trying togauge the trail’s path. There were very few other places it could lead up here;he begun to step inside, ears perked as he listened for any sign of life.
